    • only just realised who these people are (website owners). they are legit. the fam who run it are good people.
      dodgy description this product though…..

"the Dust and Smoke" were problems back in summer time with the bushfires… we have different problems now.

This mask is NOT TGA registered so it is not sold as a medical mask and will not have been tested for efficacy against virus particles. While it may work as a mask, there's no guarantees. Buyer beware.

    • +1

True but then again the point is to reduce spread which this will do. Unless you have a pro PPE with perfect fit seal you won't be protected from particles/floaters.

      • Yes, but there's no guarantee that it will actually reduce spread either. I mean it probably will by virtue of the fact that it's a covering, but it isn't designed to stop droplets passing through it, it's designed to stop particulate matter like smoke.

        • +1

Yes, but there's no guarantee that it will actually reduce spread either.

It will if you have the virus and cough or sneeze. It will definitely reduce the chances of people nearby catching it off you.

      • +2

The point is though that for those purposes of what the Vic Gov is going for, why would anyone fork out $2 per mask then?

People should either pay less (way) than a $1 for a basic "surgical-like" mask, or pay a little more for something which has an official rating of some sort even if it's KN95. Or at least something that is re-usable like a washable cloth mask.
The description reads like a cosmetics commercial, where they give fancy names for "ions", materials, and other stuff to sound fancier than it really is.

    "…nanoparticle infused fabric."
    What kind of nanoparticles? Asbestos?

    • +3

Well, the company (Beggi) is registered in New Zealand, with one director with a Chinese surname, so I'd take a stab in the dark and say… Tuvalu. The company is also registered with the ANZSCO code for Health food retailing. So make of that what you will.

    • in where was it made?

      in a factory.

    • But then no money would be generated

    • It's actually a legit business with a store front though.

Disabled person is getting into their car

Illegally stopping in a taxi zone. Shame on them.

I'm sure they'd be the first to jump up and down if a taxi parked in a disabled parking spot !!!

            • @jv: Disabled people are allowed to park and stop anywhere where it is suitable.

Where do you want this van to park? Have you ever been to Hurstville and tried to find a park for your disabled self? It is very hard.

              • @Turd: (think jv is being sarcastic)

              • @Turd:

                • @jv: You might as well quote the rules of mobility disabled parking in Uganda. Makes no difference.

NSW law does not allow disabled parking in taxi zones either.

                    https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/roads/using-roads/mobility-parkin…

                    Where you cannot park
Mobility Parking Scheme permits do not allow you to stand or park a vehicle:

                    Between ‘no stopping’ signs
                    At taxi stands
In bus, loading, construction or truck zones
                    On clearways.

                    • @jv: So I ask you again.. Where do you want this disabled person to park? Do you even know the area? Have you ever tried to find disabled parking fit for a van in Hurstville?

                        Somewhere legal.

I know that is a taxi stand

                            • @jv: And so? You are gonna be that parking inspector that goes around fining disabled people car's because they cant find parking?

George Pell also raped many kids and he is not in gaol.

It's illegal to park there if you are not a taxi.

                                • @jv: Uber allowed?

          • @Turd: nice work detective :)

              Not in Vic.

We are in many ways. Just being held back by the current state government at the moment, but we will persevere…

                • @inamberclad: Victoria is the plague state of Australia.

    • that website looks doggy as hell and obviously is made by chinese

There's also a Chinese flag on the top of their website.

      • That's the change language button

        • It’s a flag

    • Neither the manufacturer nor the retailer claims this is an antibacterial or antimicrobial mask. Both claim that it is simply to protect against particulate matter like smoke or dust.
