  • is this good for Zoom video conference microphone?

    • i've read somewhere that the mic quality is okay. But the speaker is known for being really loud for its size. I'm going to use it for my bike rides.

      • +1

That sounds really obnoxious. Wouldn't headphones be better?

        • are you suggesting I wear headphones while riding my bike? that sounds dangerous.

        • +1

it's not. I do it all the time, not very loud so no one can really hear it.

  • I think I bought my JBL Clip 3 after I saw this post : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/450173

However, here's one of the reviews I found. https://versus.com/en/bose-soundlink-micro-vs-jbl-clip-3

I don’t have a horse in this race, but not sure how the review site factors their scores.
Bose had 55% of the possible total, JBL 43%. Biggest drawback was the 3.5mm jack. But the JBL has a higher score?

      • yah i find the review site a bit weird as well. Google around on youtube prob will be better.

        • If you Google Jbl Clip 3 vs Bose Soundlink Mirco i think all reviews says though Bose got better sound but it got less battery life, sink like a rock on water (Clip 3 floats) and Clip 3 is better bang for buck.
Anyway, only if Bose Soundlink Micro could drop down to this price or less I will give it a try

The sound on these are great. Really loud and clear - plus the strap on the back is really convenient for hanging on weird places!

  • Is this a good bet for using for office phone calls from Home? if not- any other suggestions? I did check out JBL Clip 3…
looking for a good speaker with mic which has good sound output for music and also for phone calls- android phones. ?

    • from the comments i've read, mic quality of this speaker is okay, not the best. But the sound is loud for its size.

I have owned this speaker for 2 years and I am a huge fan. Prior to this I owned a Big Jambox (another great unit). This Bose is very loud for its size, as stated earlier the back strap is terrific for hanging it almost anywhere. Best of all its waterproof which is very impressive. Ive taken it to the beach often and my fiance uses it in the shower to listen to music. We even use it when we are watching a movie on our laptop and the volume just isnt clear enough. It sync's to paired devices really easily and remembers them. Only thing that is a bit useless is the bose app that they encourage you to download. I remember it being a bit clunky and useless and I havent used it since. Its exterior is a grippy rubber texture and its very resistant to bumps and drops. I highly recommend it if you are considering it.
