      Samsung S Tab tablets are probably the only real competitor to ipad. try to find any discount for last flaship Tab S4 as it should be pushed out from the market by S6 now.
      For lower grade like media consumption you may look at Lenovo. Just don't get Samsung chipsets Exynos - they are slow, tend to overheat and throttling.
