Anyone know best/cheapest place to source an alternator for Mk5 golf? I feel like looking for car parts online is still really shitty.
Prefer new, and does not need to be VW made.

Also, check the VW price. Sometimes they are reasonable (usually not).
Also, have you checked how much a rebuild or an exchange rebuild unit costs? I had an exchange starter motor done on the Honda and it was $200 fitted. I found the guy on Gumtree.
You will need to be more precise than VW Golf MKV. They need engine type, gearbox, build date (not compliance date) etc. A VIN is very helpful. Even better if you can find the partno on the alternator
