TP-Link Deco M5-3P (3-Pack) AC1300 Mesh Wi-Fi System $215 Delivered @ Shopping Express

210

I have been looking at Mesh Wifi system, particularly Tp-link Deco for some while, then came across this deal - Deco M5 3 pack for $215 delivered (Delivery fee is waived).

Please note that this is a Open Box Sale! However as it says on SE website,

This is where you will find quality products, but with not so pretty boxes. They carry the full warranty terms as new, but because the box or packaging may not be up to our standard, we've lowered the price for you. These prices are amazing compared to normal products, and the quality is just the same!

So it sounds that the product is new, but the packaging has some issue. If you are looking for a brand new one, then this is not a deal for you.
It also comes with "3 Years Limited Manufacturer Warranty" as described in the Warranty section so i think it is safe to pull the trigger.

The lowest price for 3 pack I can find on OZBargain is $223.2, while for 2 pack is $169 ($84.5 per unit). so this seems to be a decent deal.

  • Holy hell that's a good price for a 3-pack

  • 1% surcharge. Finally pulled the trigger on this one.

  • Any body received their free T3U Devices that’s was coming along with the deco m5 ?

    • I got mine a couple months ago after i bought my M4 pack. No idea what to actually use it for though…

      • Put it on ebay or marketplace for extra cash…

        • I checked both when i received it and there were literally like a dozen for sale haha

i haven't got it yet still waiting

  • How does this compared to https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/d-link-ac1… currently it is around $208 with limited stock?

The COVR has mixed reviews definitely go with the TP-Link for the extra $$$. Better units and more reliable.

        @doowyah Thanks

    • No experience with the one in your link, but i have been using this Deco M5 for 2 days and I am quite happy with it. Just installed 2 units and I can get 50+Mbps anywhere in my house (one floor with optus NBN 40Mbps plan). My current PC is down the other end of the house and far from the router, wifi signal was poor but now it is very stable.
The rating on D-link one is much lower than Deco M5 on Amazon. I would definitely recommend Deco.

    oos…

  • Damn…even created a search alert just for this and it's still gone in a flash.

  • Given they're "open box" items, I'd question how many they had in stock to begin with. I don't see there having been many units available, unless someone dropped or crushed a pallet or something ?!

Sorry to ask the same question here again , does this one provide rock solid reliable connection ?

    • ours runs solid.
3 people using VPNs to work all on wireless.
      Streaming on 2 TVs
      4 mobiles in high priority
      20 smart devices.

We have gigabit hard wired for the backhaul so have them placed in 3 spots across the house, not a huge place but receive full 5GHz in every room. Off memory they don't have dedicated backhaul wifi as per the super expensive gear, not a problem for us because of hard wire but something to consider.

Signing up cheaper smart devices is a bit of a pain as they only work on 2.4GHz and your phone has to also be on 2.4GHz so you either need to limit your phone or the mesh network for 5 minutes while you set it up.

Truthfully i would prefer a login page to an app to manage it but not that big a deal.

I think i paid ~$250 with an OFW price match.

      Great bit of kit.

  • I thought I did well getting this for $240.

    Great price.
