      This is a passive speaker so you would need to connect it to an amplifier. You can then connect the amplifier to your PC :)

          Q Acoustics are very good value generally, even at rrp. Can't comment on these specifically, but I'm very happy with my HT setup.

          I have the Q Acoustics 5.1.2 setup (note that I use sony for the Atmos) and am really happy. VFM is unbeatable.

    Damn! Bought this for full price with a pair of the 3050i speakers just 2 weeks ago! Should have waited a little longer. I will comment that both this speaker and the floor standing speakers have been exceptional with my setup for both movies and music. I'm running them with an old Pioneer VSX-523k.

    So to clarify, I have a Yamaha Amp with the speakers that came with it. I could replace my centre speaker with this one? Like it has the standard two connector plugs at the back?

      Yep, I just used this to replace my original Pioneer speakers which came with my receiver. Just has positive and negative connectors on the back.

        Did you notice an improvement on sound quality? A lot of the dialogue from the stuff we watch comes from the central speaker which is sometimes a little hard to hear. Would this speaker improve it?

          Yamaha Amps should have a Dialogue option in the Setup/Options menu for the speakers. You can set this to +1, +2 etc.. to raise the level of the dialogue without raising the sound level of other things that play through the center speaker.

          There was definitely an improvement in quality compared to the cheap Pioneer centre speaker I had. I'd go as far as saying night and day difference. On that note I also purposely turn the centre speaker up a few notches. I find that the mastering of most movies really is aimed at having the volume right up which makes sense, but when watching in my lounge room I can't just watch at 75 - 85db all the time. So I turn the centre up 2 - 3 db. Even without doing that though found dialog a lot clearer with this speaker.

    I currently have a 7.1 setup with 3010 bookshelf speakers as my LR and the surrounds and rears are 2010i, there is a centre and SW I can't remember the model of but were bought with the 2010i speakers so about that level.

    What kind of imporovement would I get replacing the bookshelf LR with the 3050i speakers? I'd expect it would be a decent step up, but would I be blown away by the difference?

      You would definitely notice a big step up from the 3010's. Bigger sound stage, more bottom end and a much fuller sound. Also improved speaker technology from the older 3000 series. I can't recommend the upgrade enough, it would definitely blow you away :)
