    That's an expensive VA panel..

    • +3

Yep. You'd think they would discount it since its bent..

Not expensive at all. You will find ultra wide curved panels of this resolution and specs in this price range being VA based. I have researched them and was going to get this, but it was out of stock in the whole Oz at that time. This Philips is one of the best specs curved VA and the price is good.

VA display delivers awesome images with wide viewing angles

Wide Viewing angles is usually a VA weakness vs IPS?

      Its better than TN

  • I have one; works great as a work monitor. The USB C provides 90w IIRC (I use 65w, so not 100% on that) and is a great solution for a quick and easy docking setup.

Pro tip: this doesn't include a suitable USB C cable (I know, right?) so you gotta buy one, but buy a good one. There have been reports out there of people complaining about performance/charging, but the solution is a proper cable. I got a Thunderbolt 3 cable rated for 100w power charging and it works great. If you use any old USB cable, you're gonna have a bad time.

Yep don’t buy the generic ones on ebay/Amazon even if they throw in the word Thunderbolt in their ads. All it means is that they charge power through it but not necessarily do video as well. If you have the later MacBooks with thunderbolt ports, the included cable is sufficient to do both.

    • Mine came with a USB-C Cable that is doing the job…? Well - in the sense that it is carrying the monitor signal, keeping my Lenovo Thinkpad fully charged and carrying the mouse and keyboard signal I have plugged into the monitor?

      • In theory, it should. I have a Thunderbolt 3 Samsung connecting to my Macbook with the included cable.

  • Not a huge discount. They'll be better deals out there to come. I'd say the Dell one from today is one of these better deals.

  • Very tempting to pull the trigger. Think I'm going to hold off for a better usb-c monitor.

  • This is about $30 better than regular shipped pricing at Centrecom. The Samsung LC34H comes in a little bit cheaper again. So not exactly a bargain, but if it's what you're after right this moment it's one of the best options. I'm hunting pretty much exactly this type of screen (34" ultra-wide with USB-C) but just can't warrant the pricing.
