Sony WF-SP800N Truly Wireless Noise Cancelling Sports Headphones $279 (Was $349.95) @ JB Hi-Fi & Sony

90

New wireless earphones from Sony that sit under the WF-1000XM3. First model from Sony to have both water resistance (IP55 rating) and Active Noise Cancelling.
General consensus is the sound quality and ANC is close but not as good as the 1000XM3.

Truly Wireless Noise Cancelling Sports Headphones $279

Are these much of an improvement on the Falsely Wireless Noise Cancelling Sports Headphones ?

  • there's a orange one on the sony store that's more expensive for some reason.

    • Looks like JB don't sell the orange model so Sony didn't need to price match that one.

  • Anybody used these? I have XMs but I haven't had that great of a time with fit (been through quite a few aftermarket tips). I have never used ones with the extra bit for fit, are they easier to secure because of it?

    • I've been through a few reviews now and the verdict on the fit is all mixed. Some say the wingtips help stabilise the buds while others say it fell out at the start of their run… I think it will depend on your ear shape.

Personally my ears have never been able to hold any of the traditional earbuds so I tried Jaybird Tarahs with wingtips and it was a huge improvement. However the Jaybird Tarahs were joined by a wire so that constant bouncing and drag of the wire during my run eventually loosened the buds seal with my ear canal. So based on my experience with wingtips, I thought I'd give these Truly wireless buds a go.
