        Maybe people have overseas appliances that require an adaptor like this, for example an overseas student

        eBay has these for the same price / cheaper

        Some people my prefer the delivery speed with Amazon

      Pretty sure it fails Australian safety requirements on Socket-outlet adaptors, specifically part

      AS/NZS 3122:2015: A3.2.2 Abnormal Insertion

      The design and construction of a socket portion shall be such that it is not possible for any pin of a plug identified in Clause 21.1(f) and Paragraph A3.2.1 to contact live parts, except during normal insertion.
      NOTE: This provision is intended to prevent the insertion of one pin of a plug while the other pin or pins are overhanging the socket-outlet, and to prevent the insertion of an earthing pin in a live contact.

      so because the body of this adapter is too small, I for example can plug a gronud pin of a us or uk plug in the live terminal, making the whole appliance live, this is your classic Death-Daptor

        Wow, I never knew why some of them have that big plastic ring around them, cheers.

        So we can just grab an actually compliant local product from Bunnings for $5, or get 3 deathdaptors for $9.59 + delivery, ending up with the same unit price as the proper ones from Bunnings.

    I bought 10 uninsulated pin on ebay for $11.89 delivered.

    A ton of heatshrink here so I could update mine to insulated for a few cents.

    This style of adapter is great for international plugs on imported devices - just glue the two plugs together and a secure long term plug is ensured.

    These are referred to as DEATHDAPTORS… you can improperly insert some plugs (especially the UK style, potentially making the appliance live). Big Clive on Youtube loves taking apart these illegal Chinese adaptors..

      So how would you have designed it? The world should just come up with a universal adapter and voltage/hertz. Save a lot of waste and resources .
