  • What's the super spicy version of this like? Been interested in trying that.

    • just put more birdseye chili.

      most korean shops have similar one.
      recipe is different so before cook just read instruction.

    • Put a sizable amount of the spice mix in the bottom of the bowl and have the noodles dry (cooked but not as a soup)…

    I wish I was a kid again so I can eat this stuff. Look at the amount of sodium and saturated fat lol. Hope it comes with a heart monitor in the pack. It would better taste damn good with all that goodness in there

    • +1

      Saturated fat does not cause heart disease, dude. That is a discredited theory, not backed by science.

      • on its own it doesn't maybe according but comnined with the high sodium and lots of calories it has the exact that is required afaik.

    Ichiran Ramen. This one is the most amazing instant noodle I've tried, from a famous shop in Japan. Crazy expansive, I paid $42 at an Asian grocer in Melbourne.

  • If its too spixy add some cream of milk or cheese or even egg.

    • also you can change recipe.
      boil noodle first about 1min and then pour water
      then put 2 cups of milk then boil 2min with rest of flake and powder.

    Love these, I slice 1 chicken breast and let it boil with the broth for 30 mins then add the noodles in for 5 mins…wowo amazing.

      Will try this

      • 35 mins of cooking for a late night supper!

        • Warth it mate

        • if you want it faster, pan fry it then add with noodles…but I prefer it boiled as it absorbed some of the flavour

    • +1

      30 mins for sliced chicken breast is a bit of overkill?

    Just bought to try it. It’s so spicy can’t handle it 😅

  • Are you all stocking it up for the 2nd wave?

    Shin Ramyun used to be quite nice but I've found that the taste has gone down over the years. Now I prefer Jin Ramyun (yellow pack noodles), it has a more intense and satisfying broth flavour and also comes in both mild and spicy varieties which is good if you find Shin Ramyun too spicy (I actually prefer the mild's flavour, it's still spicy to a degree). Other Korean Ramyun I enjoy are Chapagetti (black bean noodles), Jin Jjambbong (spicy seafood broth) and Neoguri. Try them if you have the chance, however Chapagetti and Jin Jjambbong are pretty expensive :(

      ever since they removed MSG i havent liked Shin Ramyun. It used to have this deep mushroomy taste as well. Now its just hot

      • +2

        You're right, they skimmed the dried mushroom flakes from their ingredients.

        I post the deal a couple of years back, with a capture of the package,

        FLAKES: Dried vegetables, textured vegetable protein (soy, soy sauce, wheat gluten), dried mushroom.

        The current version

        FLAKES: Dried vegetables, soybean, soy sauce, wheat gluten, yeast extract, sugar, salt, cocoa, corn starch, vegetable oil (soy).

    Noodle fangirls, which is the best non-spicy?

    • +2

      According to few comments here:
      * Potato Noodle Soup
      * Chapagetti (it feels like there is no chilli in it)
      * Jin Ramen Mild
      * Jin Jjambbong
      * Nongshim Neoguri Mild
      * Nissin Cup Noodles
      * Yakisoba Japanese Style

      • Paldo Jjajangmen is really good too. Its black bean noodles. Stir through not soup

    • You're dead to me.

  • We’re gonna see less $3 offers now since it’s so popular at this price.

    Here for the noodle gatekeeping. I could read this all day

  • Indomie > Shin Ramyun… change my mind

    • Your preference might be dry noodles, give this a go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIHWBi__Tfs

      She used only half a packet of the seasoning, I would use the remaining half with 150ml of boiling water to make a bowl of soup to go with the dry noodles.

  • These are great with marinara, just thow in the marina mix for 3mins, add pak choy, egg, mushroom, kimchi … easy meal.

  • The normal price used to be $6 now it's $6.50 at woolies.
