Saw a deal on Kogan recently. Try cycle between their web store and Dick Smith. I have also heard Buybuybox or tobydeals can be cheap as well.

Why are you going for OP7T? Not the newer models of 7T pro or 8 or 8 pro

    • I'm only looking for phones with flat 90Hz+ displays, and that surprisingly limits my options. Was excited for the Nord but honestly prefer the tear drop notch vs hole punch, and also build quality of the 7T over Nord. Pretty sure they'd be similar prices at this point as well.

Tobydealsau has good prices at around sub $700 but not sure I want to go with them from looking at previous feedback on ozbargain for these guys…

You are right. There aren't many choices when it comes to flat 90 Hz displays.

Not sure about Tobydeals either. Kogan or Dick Smith might be worth looking into then as they also provide a 1-year local warranty. Do take note of whether if they are just a third-party store selling it on their website. Might be preferable to go with the ones sold directly by Kogen/DS.

I would also prefer the 7T over the Nord as well, because of its slower processor.

  • Go for Realme X3 Superzoom. 12GB RAM, 256GB ROM, Flat 120Hz display, SD855+, Local Warranty available at JB Hifi in $799 outright or $299 upfront on $60 12M Telstra Plan.

    • I considered this one too, but honestly I think 90Hz is plenty and the 90Hz AMOLED will look much better than the 120Hz (I think IPS?) panel on the Realme X3 superzoom. In saying that, might be a good idea to check it out in store to see haha.

Another thing is OxygenOS I guess, hard to say no to that. I don't know much about the Realme UI though, is it any good?

      • Moved from Samsung S20+ to Realme X3, but didn't feel any practical difference between AMOLED and IPS LCD.
As for Realme UI, it is the closest UI to Stock I have ever used, with some useful overlays.

        • Wow interesting that you made the move from S20+ to Realme X3, that's some encouraging feedback there though, I'll definitely go check it out.

          Cheers!

@clokwise: Samsung phones are surely good but overrated. Oppo, Realme, One+ phones give you more value to price compared to Samsung.

  • I asked a relative to purchase for me from Malaysia- it was cheaper as well and came in with free headphones and other goodies. I have been using it since Jan 2020 and I have to say that I'm not entirely happy with the quality. Photos and sounds and great and charges super fast but it sometime hangs up and especially on groupo video calls, it always does something unexpected.

I used the Iphone 7 before this for 3 years and I am starting to my older phone. It's just been 7 months so I am worried if it will even work in 2/3 years time (like my previous phone).

    • What version of Android 10 are you on?
