Boost $150 80GB Sim Starter Pack - Expiry Date Thread

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Hi all

I thought many who have purchased the $150 Boost Sim Starter Pack would like to know if they will be able to activate on the 80GB plan after 10th August 2020.

I just spoke to Boost over the phone, they clarified with me that the sim card itself may expire in 2022, however they said you cannot activate on the current 80GB plan after the 10th of August even with the physical sim pack.

They also mentioned so long as you activate on or before 10th August, you should be able to renew the same plan in future years.

I was also told, as the 80GB plan will no longer be able to be activated for new customers after 10th of August, your $150 sim credit will only be valid to use on whatever plans are available after this date.

There is conflicting information here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/549792 which indicates a Boost Rep has advised they would honor activating the 80GB plan up until the sim cards expiry date. I sincerely hope this post is correct and the information I have been given today is wrong.

UPDATE - 1/8/20

After speaking to a fourth consultant today, the information given has been updated

Apparently, the $150 sim packs can be activated on the 80gb 12 month plan after 10th of August 2020 as the sim comes with the actual recharge included. This will only give you 12 months, after that there is no further recharge regardless of when you activate.

However, they also advised that further recharges would no longer be available to existing customers after 10th of August 2020 as the plan will no longer exist.

So, if you are an existing customer who is fortunate enough to have their renewal coming up before 10th of August, then those customers could recharge before then for one more year, however after this time, no one can recharge again.

This would make sense as the website page says

CURRENT CUSTOMERS

Recharge available to customers who activate before 10 August.

https://boost.com.au/shop/150-prepaid/

Update 17/8/20

Apparently, the decision to end Boost Anytime Plus plan and introduce Boost Anytime Ultra plan has been moved from 11 August to 01 September. Hence, changing the start date of this deal to 01 September 2020.**

Can't help but feel as though this is being managed poorly by Boost. I'm just thinking of all the starter packs out in circulation which people have bought, thinking in good faith that they have up until the expiry date on the kit to activate the service. Just doesn't seem right.

Also, their FAQ page actually says nothing about the starter kits and the 10 August date the OP has been provided. Come to think of it, the 'I already have a $150 or $100 voucher. Can I redeem it after 1 July?' part of their FAQ doesn't event answer the question…!

Does anyone know what the impact is on physical recharge vouchers? I have one I bought in advance for when my current 80GB/$150 service expires in Sept, but after reading this, I'm not confident that it will still work.

  • I was also told the $150 sim pack will only recharge as $150 value to whatever plans are available after 10th August, so who knows what actual 'plan' you get after then for your $150 worth of credit.

    • Wow this is really poorly managed.
A lot of ppl (me included) have bought the $150 recharge vouchers in good faith, expecting to receive the same 80gb plan.

      • +1

Will you be upset if the new recharge gives you 120gb?

Why are we all worrying about it now and assuming the worst.

        • +1

Because if it was better they'd be advertising it.

          • +1

@justtoreply: When I worked for Telstra a few years ago, the current prepaid deals always had an expiry date but the newer plans were usually basically the same, the price stayed the same and they generally increased the free countries to call or a slight increase in bonus data. We were told only a few days before to stop being swamped by customers asking us details. It’s like ask Apple staff about the new iPhones a week before the official announcement.

        • You raise a good point.
And @justtoreply below also makes a good point.

Considering the growth that Boost has enjoyed thus far, who knows what will happen.
My prediction is that the change won't be better than what is current. Of course, I could be wrong.

  • Seems a very hastily implemented change, they can't seem to spell "RECHAREGE" correctly…

    https://boost.com.au/get-help/vouchers-faq-010720/#WHAT-RECH…

  • They also need to be less vague in their statement from that page

WHAT RECHAREGE VOUCHERS WILL NO LONGER BE SOLD FROM 1 JULY?

From 1 July, $150 and $100 recharge vouchers will no longer be sold. All of our other recharges will still be available as vouchers.

"You can continue to recharge $150 and $100 using your credit/debit card or paypal on the Boost App, boost.com.au or #111#"

So I am guessing that means you can continue to recharge those plans so long as you are already an active customer on that specific plan on or before 10th of August

    • That is how I read it too.

Also, the rumour is that they will announce their new plans mid to late August

      • +2

The way Optus / Vodafone / Telstra handle this is that only current prepaid plans can be selected when activating a non-expired SIM, and their current prepaid plans have the same length of service and the same cost, and almost always the same or better inclusions than old prepaid plans.

In other words, you get what you paid for, and sometimes you get more (especially more data). So nobody gets upset, because everyone gets what they paid for.

Where Boost may well run into trouble, and run serious risk of TIO complaints, is if they change their prepaid plans to offer significantly less or cost significantly more than what was available at the time of purchase.

For example, there appears to be a time (23 Sept 2019 to Feb 2020) when the "$150 PREPAID LONG EXPIRY" page did not include an expiry date up the top. See the wayback machine here: https://web.archive.org/web/20190923094617/https://boost.com…

Furthermore, the CIS linked on the above page is also stored by the wayback machine, and that CIS makes no mention of an expiry date to these plans, but it does detail the inclusions of the $150 product (12 months expiry, 80 GB data, unlimited local calls & texts, international inclusions).

That page + CIS + the expiry date on the packs themselves, is surely a massive TIO problem for Boost if they don't offer a comparable replacement product.

I for one have one of these $150 starter packs which I intend on porting to when my current service expires, and I will be interested to see what their new offer is.

        • So if I am a current customer with one of these plans expiring in Jan 2021 - will I be able to renew the same plan or will need to chose from one of the then current ones?

  • I thought this package was only for 'new' Boost customers.
So, if you were already on one, you couldn't recharge using this coupon?

    • Port out & back?

      • That's kinda the point. I don't see how you can use this coupon at any time after August.
If you are already on a Boost plan, but the coupon is only for new customers, then you are illegible.
If you port out after August the coupon will expire and you won't be able to use it.

        • So should i port out and back again using a (rare?) $150 SIM kit, bought with a $15 discount?
or just sell this spare $150 SIM kit and renew as existing customer online? Because after porting out, i'm no longer 'existing customer'…

  • They seem confused about the question around whether or not you can activate the 80GB long expiry plan with a $150 sim after the 10th of August, they keep getting their stories mixed up. It seems unclear whether the 80GB plan is tied to the $150 starter sim or simply $150 worth of credit to spend on any available plan at the time of activating.

Quite a few posts have previously mentioned the $150 sim can be activated on the 80GB long expiry plan after 10th August, however I have been told no by two consultants, yes from a third however she seemed uncertain in her voice.

  • Funking Funkleberries! Now I guess we have to 'RECHAREGE' or activate by 10th August.
My current sim doesnt expire til end of this month. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOst. 👎

  • Please take all this with a grain of salt. There are mixed opinions out there at present, if you want give Boost a call and ask them. The more people clarifying this with Boost the better

  • Yes, I had highlighted this in one of my comments earlier. If you activate after 10th August, for all you know, you just get $150 "credit" in your Boost Account, which may be used for activating any plan "available in that point in time".

    • +1

That would be a breach of consumer law and you can get a refund. You either get what you paid for or you agree to a plan that is offered, presumably that replaced this plan. It might be $180 sim and give you 120gb, and you would agree to accept that instead at no extra cost to you

  • I'm living the wild life on Catch's new plans.

I think Telstra has to at least match or better those plans. Otherwise damn, it's such a good deal that I'm sticking with it for a while.

Anyone feeling like they will drop the price for the 80GB plan down to something else or create a new 60GB plan at a lower price range? I think the latter is more likely.

    Possibly 50GB for $100? 30GB for $80? Who knows.

  • My understanding, the $150 plan will be grandfathered (using the terminology very loosely here) for a max of 2 years till 10/8/2022. After August 2022, no one will be able to recharge $150, and you’ll be forced to recharge on whatever plans at that time.

It’s a prepaid service and as long as they give you ample warning of recharge/inclusions changes, you can’t expect it to last forever.

Having said that, I believe the value of the newer plans will be slightly better (to incentivise customers to move to it), but whatever changes they make, it may not strike the awesome balance of price/inclusions/duration the $150 plan provided.

I just wish Boost managed this in a more transparent way.

    • If they were better they'd just offer it now. The new plans will be worse and we might lose some countries like the Philippines.

This is going to be a price increase and/or removal of the $150 plan inline with Telstra's other increases over covid-19 to fund their 5G network.

      • Boost increasing Prices would not benefit Telstra except people leaving Boost to join Telstra.

Boost is not owned by Telstra and is competition.

Boost plans may include 5G or they may introduce different plan tiers.

When Telstra increased data on there plans, they never offered before the current plans expired.

Does anyone remember the previous Boost plans. I know Boost used to offer Optus originally but that seems many moons ago.

  • Many thanks to OP & others here for clarifying this. I am using this $150 plan now. I also have a $150 recharge voucher, expiry date 01/2021. Will that voucher still be valid if I recharge it by early Jan? If I recharge now, it can only cover until 08/2021, not 01/2022, right? Appreciate your help!

  • We should know more soon

  • +1

Optus are advertising $150 for 12 months and 120gb with the deal expiring 16/8.

  • Anyone else contacted Boost to clarify the terms of the physical sim pack activation timeframe for the 80gb plan? Love to hear anyone else's experience dealing with Boost over the phone.

  • So what's the verdict for existing customers who are nearing expiry? Recharge now, or wait until after the 10th?

Being forced to take a gamble, (either way), seems a rough position to put customers into.

    • The consensus is you have until 10th of August to recharge on the 80GB plan, after that existing customer's can no longer recharge that plan unless previously recharged before 10th of August?

I know it's inconvenient, but perhaps call Boost and ask?

      • Yeah but the predicament is, the new plans, (after the 10th), could be better value in which case it's better to wait.
Or they could be poorer value, in which case we should recharge today or tomorrow.

As mentioned by others above, the lack of transparency on the new plans means we can't make an informed decision.

        • Yeah but the predicament is, the new plans, (after the 10th), could be better value in which case it's better to wait.
Or they could be poorer value, in which case we should recharge today or tomorrow.

As you say, if you wait it could be better or worse value - but if you're happy with the current offer (which I'm assuming most people are) then it's better to do it now.

If you only use say 60GB a year, what's the point if you get 80GB or 120GB with your $150. But if the deal suddenly goes to 40GB… (reductio ad absurdum)

As mentioned by others above, the lack of transparency on the new plans means we can't make an informed decision.

I agree about the lack of transparency, but have you ever heard a mobile service provider advertising upcoming plan changes? In my experience it's always done after the fact - at least in this case they've given us a date!

  • I might switch to CatchConnect's $120 for 12 months and 120GB…

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/556739

    • Nice to see they extended their offer, as the page now says "Offer may be withdrawn at any time"

  • From my chat session with them:

Since we have a promotion for the $150 recharge, the service should be activated before 10/08/2020.

Implying the $150 SIM pack is $150 credit which you then exchange for the 80GB deal. After the 10th it'll still be worth $150 but who knows what you'll be able to get with it.

I'm happy with what you get for the $150, I'll be activating tomorrow.

  • I don't trust Boost anymore. Sold my sim on gumtree.

The guy activated on the spot and agreed to no refunds.

I decided to use Woolworths mobile instead, cheaper since I'm not in a regional area and you get 10% off a shop each month which can mean you make money.

  • I'm already on the $150 plan, due to expire in a week. From what I've been reading, it seemed like if you were already on the plan you would be able to renew, but this wasn't explicitly clear so I just chatted with Boost to try and clarify.
They've told me that even if you're on the plan, it's no longer available after August 10. Whether or not this is true or not, who knows. They strongly encouraged me to renew early prior to the 10th if I wanted to stay on the plan.
I asked if there would be new long expiry plans to replace this one and they said yes, and they would be advertised on the website 'soon'. I asked 'when will they be advertised, as I don't know whether to stay on this plan or wait for the new ones', and they said they couldn't say when, but they again advised me to renew early as the $150 recharge was 'the best so far'.

I'm happy enough with the $150 plan as is, haven't gone over my data (still 25GB left after almost 12 months) so I will be renewing, but frustrating for people who might be on the edge of needing more data and wanting to know what's coming.

It's also entirely possible the agent I spoke to was just wrong, wouldn't surprise me.

  • Can somebody tell me what to do.

    • I am with another provider.
    • I have a boost $150 SIM pack
    • If I activate tomorrow (9th of August), I will receive 80 GBs and 12 months access
      Q. Will I be able to recharge $150 for 80 GB / 12 months again this time next year?

    • Otherwise
      Q. If I activate on Tuesday (11th of August), will I still receive 80 GBs and 12 months access (ie what it says on my starter pack, which expires in 2022).
      Q. Will I be able to recharge $150 for 80 GB / 12 months again this time next year?

Very confused and have not been able to reach Boost on the phone for days!

    • +1

Alright - I have effectively foregone 3 free months with another provider and ported in to Boost today.

This means it's pretty much guaranteed that prices will be dropped, data allowances will go up tomorrow… You're all welcome :)

      • +1

Acctually, according to MELso's post below, out of the new Anytime Ultra offers that will come in on 11 August, the only two with 12-month expiry are $200 with 30GB or $300 with 240GB, so I definitely think you made the right call!

        • I think you're right, I may have gotten lucky with this!

It still isn't entirely clear by Boost… But I am confident that the offer hasn't gotten any better for my needs, so happy with that.
(I was worried, they'd release a better value plan or something, which is not the case!)

  • If I was a betting man I would say you will get less data I am on this plan as well but don’t use that much data my expires in late September. They must be losing on it otherwise they wouldn’t be changing it

  • Commenting with the risk of being negged. Do you think Boost should/will give additional data to users already on the $150 80GB plan? I know, it is selfish to ask for more without paying anything additional; but hey, the current customers on $150 are the ones who jumped from a variety of another operators / MVOs (me included). Shouldn't we be rewarded for our "2 years" of loyalty?

Contrary to my thoughts, peeps already on the $150 plan are considering themselves lucky to be on this plan, given that Boost is (vaguely) confirming that we would still be able to recharge with the $150 plan "forever" ever how many times we want. But I think that'll be clear in a couple of days (10 August).

To stay in the race, with Amaysim and Catch Connect giving some attractive plans, if Boost is increasing the annual charge from $150 to a higher value, I think they would need to increase the data allowance by quite a good value. This is why I think it would be good of them to give existing users a little 'Boost'.

    • An optimistic view but given the lack of care/content on their website, inadequate answers to their own posed questions, inconsistent responses and flippant nature of their CS staff (indicating poor training and lack of good management), I'll take a risk and say there's not going to be much (or anything) for existing users.

    • Loyalty??

You chose boost because of the service and price.
The service is the only option equal to Telstra without paying the price.
      We’re not ENTITLED to anything.
Why aren’t people just waiting till the 10th.
There is no race with Catch and Amaysim as they can’t offer the superior coverage.
Your reward for the loyalty was the cheap price you paid for 12 months, check out Telstras prices

I do know that in some areas the competition is better, YMMV.

    • +2

Nah completely valid opinion, definitely not something to be negged about, though I disagree with you about any loyalty bonus.

The concept of a prepaid plan is that you make an pay and make an agreement for that time frame, and in this case it is a 12 month period. They have absolutely no legal requirement to serve you more than that, and you have no legal requirement to stay with them. Loyalty bonuses often doesn't pay off if revenue acquisition cost is low enough (I don't know the position Boost is in), and the loyalty bonus to existing customers would eat into your revenues. It's only worth having a bonus if Boost will become not competitive and lose customers, because why would you give away data (data = money) when people are already willing to pay at your current price point?

We can all hope the future of the $150 would be of a greater value, but we can all be optimistic about it! I really hope so, but if value does drop, I hope it would still be competitive with the good value market price (Catch Connect, Kogan), as one major plus for me is that this is on the Telstra network.

Details of the new Anytime Ultra offer are up (starting 11 August). The 6 month offers and the $150 12 month offer are going. In comes a new 12 month $200/30GB offer. Existing Anytime Plus customers are grandfathered (see cl 3.14)…

    https://www.telstra.com.au/content/dam/tcom/personal/consume…

    • +1

      Wow great find!

    • Legend. Thanks

    • Great find!
      So the new plan is:
      $200
      30GB (I seriously hope that's a typo). Just friggin' 30GB??
      Valid 12 months

      • I guess it's trying to be the low value bait to make people want to go to the $300 version?

        • I agree.

    • Have they maybe switched out this PDF?
From what I can see, clause 3.14 just says '3.14 Our Fair Play Policy applies. For Personal Use only.'…

      • Yes, appears to be. Looks like they have deleted it - the new plans from 11 August 2020.

      • +1

PDF at the link appears to have been updated. They have removed the new PDF and kept the old PDF:

New PDF (was at the link yesterday 10 Aug):
Footer: Telstra Mobile – Part C: Special Promotions was last changed 10 August 2020

Old PDF (is being opened at he link today 11 Aug):
Footer: Telstra Mobile – Part C: Special Promotions was last changed 16 July 2020

Section 3.14 has now been deleted and moved to Section 3.1 which states the 'Boost Anytime Plus' plans which are existing ones (as of 10 August 2020).

I have a downloaded copy of the PDF (yesterday) which still has that clause (3.1 for Boost Anytime Ultra and 3.14 for Boost Anytime Plus), but it is not present in the link now.

So basically they have removed the new 'Boost Anytime Ultra' and retained 'Boost Anytime Plus' ?

        So, the $150 plan stays?

        • What a mess! Seems that maybe they aren't done planning/finalising details?

          • @Mars1: Looks like. The website still allows you to buy $200 plan for 6 months, 150GB. What if someone unaware of the ongoing changes goes ahead and purchases it? Bad planning.

  • still confused. Do I need to recharge by $150 today (before 10th) or can I recharge in Sept when due for renewal?

CURRENT CUSTOMERS: Recharge available to customers who activate before 10 August.

BUT as per above link and point 3.14
From 11 August 2020, no new activations will be permitted on this offer. However, existing Boost customers on this offer who continue to recharge their service by $10 or more in a single transaction will receive the following benefits.

The $150 Recharge still shows 12 mths 80GB so am reading as OK to recharge in Sept. YES/NO?

    • Yes, that's how I understood it.

    • Same, that's how I interpret it.

  • Interesting with existing sim cards, and what will be when it is activated after 11-August.

    • That remains a mystery even now! It'll be a long battle trying to convince Boost about all the confusion etc. when they themselves aren't very open about this scenario.

    • Below is the response from Boost rep when I was finally able to speak to one:
You can activate existing $150 SIM anytime before the expiry mentioned on the SIM pack. But you won't be able to recharge $150 again. However, if you activated it by/before 10th Aug, you will be termed as "Existing Customer" and can continue to recharge $150 plan from below link:

All good for a year now.

Hopefully all those kits continue to work.. Would love to bring more people over while I can

  • Below is the response from Boost rep when I was finally able to speak to one:
You can activate existing $150 SIM anytime before the expiry mentioned on the SIM pack. But you won't be able to recharge $150 again. However, if you activated it by/before 10th Aug, you will be termed as "Existing Customer" and can continue recharge $150 plan one more time from below link:
    https://boost.com.au/shop/150-prepaid/

    • What if it’s existing customer but not due to recharge by October?

      • +1

As mentioned above, existing customers have the option to recharge the $150 plan one more time even after 10th Aug, whenevr their plan due for renewal. Thats why $150 recharge is still available from the above link for existing customers, and you can clearly see the description when you click the link.

    • +1

ONE more time is kinda the big news here.

I'd assumed that we were going to be grandfathered and effectively able to carry on (as long as this provided the best value)

      • Thats what the link says. But the rep told me that ONE MORE TIME. But going by the description on the link, it doesn't mention one more time.

  • +4

Boost should have provided more accurate information on their products. Below is my understanding about the Boost $150 12 month plan. I do not work for Boost.

    • The plan will be available for at least another year till 10/8/2021, that's what Boost means by "customers who activated before 10/8/2020 will have one more chance to recharge on the same plan". Customers who activated after 10/8/2020 are allowed to recharge before 10/8/2021, but I guess most people wouldn't recharge before their plan expire.
    • While the plan is still active, you can activate the plan with a $150 SIM Starter Kit as a new customer or with a $2 SIM + $150 recharge voucher.
    • Boost is no longer selling the $150 SIM Starter Kit, but the remaining stock on the market will be honored.
    • Some Boost $150 SIM Starter Kit have expiry date in 2022, I guess Boost will put it on a new $150 plan after 10/8/2021.

Hope the above helps. Again, I am not associated with Boost.

    • Thanks Auditech.
A relative and I bought $150 recharge vouchers from you; we were very happy with your great service.

      • +1

Thanks for your feedback, it's a pleasure. @JJlikes2eat

    • So is there confirmation that the $150 SIM kit i have which has 2022 expiry date will still work for a new activation until then? Or is this $150 kit now not worth anything?

      • +1

Yes, confirmed you can activate the SIM before its expiry date. Multiple users reported successful activation after 1 Sept

    • Sorry for bumping the thread but this is ridiculous.
Are plans not grandfathered in for those that choose to stay on the old plan?
My recharge is for sometime in December this year which I will recharge on the day for another year.

However after that year end of 2021 and hypothetically there was no other good value mobile deals are our only plan available the $200 plan for only 30gbs of data?
That's worse value and more expensive.

      • +1

Holy Moly……..you are asking about what will be available 1 year 3 months from now. I suggest that you worry/ask about it in 1 year 2 months time and check what plans are available across all carriers then :-)

That's not an officially published document by Telstra. The information you quoted is not accurate from a leaked link. The Boost300 SIM is also part of the Anytime Plus offer and is still available to purchase on Boost website. The Boost150 SIM is still permitted to activate till its expiry date.

Erm - that's a direct quote from Telstra's 'Our Customer Terms' document which is very official and published on their website (rather than being leaked)…

  • Myself and wife are not expired till dec both use the $150 80gb plan. Can you give me a heads up when ours is due to expire can we purchase the recharge and get same as we have now? Or has this $150 recharge ended?
So do we wait till after or a day or so before to recharge.
Just want to know as im getting confused about what boost says in site about recharge before 10 august.

Just want same plan and come dec both of ours will expire and dont know what's going on.

    • As per OP, you can recharge to same $150 plan when your current one is due in Dec (being an existing customer) via https://boost.com.au/shop/150-prepaid/.

Best wait until the day of expiry otherwise you lose existing days if you renew early i.e. remaining days do not carry forward and plans starts on the day of renewal.

The 10 of Aug deadline was for anyone wanting to sign up new.

      • So as mine expires 22nd dec then renew that day? Am i right in saying we only get one more year or can we keep going until we move away from boost

        • Correct. Just do NOT let it expire otherwise you would go out of plan and have no way back in or to renew with the $150 plan.

At this stage existing subscribers will only have x1 renewal available to them. Next year when that expires, will have to change to an alternate Boost plan (or Port elsewhere). Can worry about that then closer to the time.

          • @Borg:

At this stage existing subscribers will only have x1 renewal available to them.

            How did you know this?

            • @JJlikes2eat: I dont know with certainty however is generally the understanding of their current changes.

See above post by audiotech (who is across this as well as anyone) on 12/08/2020 - 16:54
Extract: "customers who activated before 10/8/2020 will have one more chance to recharge on the same plan". Customers who activated after 10/8/2020 are allowed to recharge before 10/8/2021

Nobody really knows what will occure. Mine is due for renewal in two weeks. What will be avail to me this time next year is impossible to tell. Hopefully will be even cheaper (or simular type of plan). The plus for me is the Int'l calls to mobiles. Not many carriers offer this.

  • So as wife boost expires on 3rd oct would i best do this the day before. Get the recharge and do all on 2nd oct.

    • Up to you. I would just do it on the 3rd as you have until midnight, saves losing a days worth of plan. The main thing is NOT to forget to do it i.e. set lots of reminders for the day :-)
If you let it expire, there is no going back to the plan i.e. there is no grace period.

      • Cool whats the process with the recharge from boost as cant remember. Do they email some code or something.

  • via https://boost.com.au/shop/150-prepaid/ You can do this from anywhere as it asks for your Mobile number.
    OR
You could use the Mobile App on the phone and select the $150 top-up.

The phone then Auto gets topped up, Not code needed.

    • Ok cool might do this today 2nd instead of 3rd tomorrow incase we forget. I take this automatically gives the plan and not just $150 credit.

I know when wife was not with boost she last year and joined all was good we got sim kit from coles as part of deal and purchased gift cards also to get less.
And her one went right to plan.

Myself having been a customer of boost and i stuck to what plan i was using paid per month i noticed i should have stopped it and updated it to there newer one at time as was better or even better jumped into this year plan.
So had i done the year plan sooner i might have had a longer time with it.
Anyway as i got the kit and can't remember what i did etc being a customer already my coles kit/recharge was only that and not a plan which was the reason in getting it.
But boost was cool they sorted it out and changed it to plan.
I should have been renewing my plan around same time as wife but as boost had to fix mine the new expire was then December.

But I take as she is on this plan with this recharge be it day before or on expire day it still be plan and not go as just credit.
Obviously as she is first to recharge i just needed to know as mine few months away yet

  • Correct.
    - Go to: https://boost.com.au/shop/150-prepaid/
    - Click on Recharge now.
    - Enter your wife's mobile number (and select) "No" to Do you have a recharge voucher?
    - On next screen. Click on the Recharge $150 (80GB plan).

Once paid, you can check using the Boost Mobile App on your wife's phone. It will show as now expiring on 02/10/2021

  • I could have waited till 3rd and did it then but just in case we forgot or internet went down etc etc a day before makes no difference rather have done than miss and not have plan. Wife checked phone and has the 02/10/2021 so looks to have gone through but she said she has 60 something gb instead of 80gb.
I take it maybe shows this as it’s not updated itself yet or until officially old one expires

  • No. It should say 80GB assuming you picked the $150 80GB one i.e. nothing is carried forward and the package restarts there and then.
