        My freezer is already filled with hops for my home brewing - I dont think the Mrs would be too keen if coffee beans showed up in there too haha.

        Yes, freezing apparently does help to keep beans fresh. The risk of putting it in the freezer is getting moisture in the beans and also you don't want to be using cold beans (straight from freezer to grinder). Based on some online research, my approach is to store beans in ~250g ziplock bags for the freezer trying to squeeze out any excess air and double bag to avoid moisture getting in. Then just bring it out to rest (warm up to room temperature) overnight on a kitchen bench on a towel or something similar.

        The family is still surprised how nice the coffee is with frozen beans from a month later though I suspect there is still some deterioration there.

          I do this as well, and yes the coffee taste noticeably fresher.
          I even started to open a bag get enough for a week and refreeze the rest.
          There is deterioration but still better than sitting 500g over 1-4 weeks.

        I just tried this but there was nowhere to leave a note to request Decaf before or after the payment went through. Now it looks like I'm stuck with receiving the wrong beans. Is there anything you can do? I've sent emails to [email protected] in the past but never got a response.

          Hi Michael, the notes are only able to be left if you use the send funds feature as I explained above! Paypal removed the ability to leave notes if just using the button on our site.

          I have received your separate email request and will happily send the decaf as per your change you request 😁

      My guess is they changed bag designs and its why they have decreased in size

      Or found out they were not always 480g so changed it to underpromise/overdeliver.

        Thanks, yes this is correct. We were getting slammed with extra few dollars in shipping by Aus Post for being a even just a few grams over. To allow for the weight of the valved bags etc we decided it was better to offer 4 x 470g to enable us to keep the same pricing and not increase our prices etc 😁

      Normally roast medium-medium dark(2.5min development) Magical Unicorn is a variety of Brailian beans(medium roast) and Colombian (medium dark)
      Brazil Adalgisa normally 2-2.5 min development medium roast

      No, there is nothing added to the coffee beans just that fresh coffees have different characteristics and flavours according to their origin, processing method and roast profile! A bit like wine :)

    We just got some Trung Nguyen Gourmet Blend Vietnamese ground coffee from the local shop for around $9 per 500g box. You just can't beat Vietnamese iced coffee :)

      Vietnamese coffee is very nice with the right quality phin and patience while it filters through. Definately give you a massive caffeine kick, just watch the use by dates. Still, can't drink it every day. Love my coffee beans too much!

      Can drink upto a year but generally considered fresh for 4 weeks and after 4-5 weeks you may notice a decline in the more uniques characteristics until it becaomes similar to supermarket coffee :)

      Hi, welcome aboard :) Yes this is normal! Our coffees are fresh roasted to order as advertised and usually dispatched the same of following day from roasting.For this reason we don't put roast dates on the individual coffee bags :)

          It depends! If it is an email to request coffee changes outside of the deal listing then yes we don't always reply to these kind of emails.
          We try our best to assist with coffee change requests where possible and advise people to leave notes in Paypal and not send emails. Unfortunately we don't have time to negotiate backwards and forwards on an individual basis about coffee changes on these half price deals

    I wasn't negotiating a deal. Was told by you to leave a message to change to decaf and that's what I did and was sent normal caffeinated coffee. So I sent you an email regarding this and received no reply. And instead receive a reply in the comments here..

I will always honour what I have said and if a mistake is made at our end then we will always try to fix it but

      For reference I asked for decaf and got it. 5 stars for service.

      The decaf itself wasn't that great IMO but glad I tried it.
