[PS4] Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown $29.95 (Was $107.95) @ PlayStation Store

780

Was looking for a decent flight sim game. ACE Combat seems to be the best. Was surprised to see the normal edition down to $29.95 (instead of $107.95) on the play station store.

    Great game

    • +1

I'll know as soon as it is finished downloading.
Will this be another reason to contemplate getting the PSVR…

      • +4

I think the VR section is like 3 special missions only.

        • +2

It is a shame they only did the 3 missions, but its still one of the most immersive and enjoyable PSVR experiences released so far, and well worth the special price

  • +2

Was $24.95 a month or two back (during Days of Play?). Want, but kinda hoping this gets to PS Plus in the nearish future, or at least goes full PS Hits prices.

    • +2

Same. I just want to play the hour or so of VR missions mostly.

      • +1

agreed - I just locked in the xbox game pass 3yr upgrade for a dollar trick which has this, so have just got stuck into it but tbh i had ideally wanted it on ps mainly to give the vr missions a crack. So far so good though, I think 30 bucks is worth it if you've been craving a good fighter jet game for a while, but i cant see myself paying up for the ps version just for the VR

Was looking for a decent flight sim game.

Is Microsoft Flight Simulator still around?

Seems like it. Might be worth it, since none of us are going overseas anytime soon. Doesn't come with shitty service during your flight. That's an optional extra.

    • +7

MS Flight Simulator 2020 is due to drop on the 18th of Aug and going by some of the previews, it looks pretty sweet

    • Yep, the new version looks great, and is part of the microsoft games pass, so you can sign up for a month and see if you like it for basically nothing :)

  • +2

Great game… included in game pass if you have an Xbox…

(this comes from someone who loves PlayStation and Xbox, just saying in case someone like me has both goes buying it on PlayStation not realising it’s in game pass)

  • Defo a fun ride. And of course if you like airplane/jet porn, then Project Aces does not disappoint.

@PabloProuty, I didn't realise it was also out on gamepass. good stuff.

*edit - looks like it's gamepass on Xbox. Unfortunately they didn't offer it on the PC end. Shame. :p

Playstation store RRP seem to come from the same realm as knife set RRPs. Are only ever paid by Saudi billionaires.

    • +2

So, you're telling me I should start a knife business selling to the Saudi's?

      • +2

The business of cutting things up is a prosperous one in the Saudi Arabian upper classes apparently.

(Not being flippantly flippant - SA has a lot to answer for. And they won't).

        • +1

But there's only seven saudi billionaires in the world which then is shared among the family members. No Saudi billionaire made it to forbes in 2018. Middle eastern billionaires are really overrated.

          • @BeoWulf: Only 7 isn't a problem. The RRP for my knives will be $5M per set. Ex GST and delivery.

          • @BeoWulf: If they reported their actual wealth, it might be different….

            • @Scrobo: But couldnt the same be applied with every other country? I mean the US, China and Germany has 614, 389 and 107 billlionaires. arab billionaires are old money who have grappled a monopoly and generally always are the same few people over and over again. Their vanity of flaunting supercars is amusing and their wealth is overrated.

Great price. This is great with a HOTAS and VR (shame that only 3 missions are VR supported, not the whole campaign).

  • +2

If you prefer it on PC/Steam it's also currently on sale at Gamesplanet for ~$25.70 for the next 40 mins

  • Cannot believe I've bought Ace Combat 7 for Xbox 360… still have the case and disc in it…

    • +2

Did you mean Ace Combat 6?
I think Ace Combat 7 only for Xbox One, right?

      • Oops, the memory gap missed a whole decade lol

  • +7

Ahhh…a world where a plane can carry 120+ missiles but only 4 flares.

    • +1

or have sustained 99% damage and still be fully functional flight aircraft.

      • Yeah man, it's a game :)

  • Lol what game is $107? The sale price is the price it should be.

    • Use to pay that for 64 games on release.
Remember my brother paid $107 or 108 for a NFL game.
Only game I ever had to go read the instructions because 30 minutes in I still had no idea what was going on.

      • +2

I recall Street Fighter 2 for the SNES being something ridiculous like $120 or $150 back in the day. And that was in 1992 when $120 was a lot more money than it is now.

As much as we like to complain about the cost of games, the prices haven't really increased greatly over the years. Especially when you consider how much more they cost to make these days.

        • $139 at Toyworld

        • +1

Yeah I paid $70 for Miner 2049'er back in the mid 80s, and $85 for Defender. Hate to think how much that would equate to now.

          • @Scrobo: Good Christ, you must be as old as I am, if not older :D

  • +3

Paid $24.95 a couple months ago and it was a great game.

  • +1

Deluxe edition was $45 earlier this month too as a price comparo.

    • +1

Paid that amount but Deluxe is not worth it.

  • I'll pay that much for a physical edition.

  • $20 down from $9 milly

  • thank you so much. so much nostalgia from playing flight sim games back when we had win98.

this is great been looking for a good flight sim game that wasn't too complex for ages.

  • Got this and GTA V @$22.xx. I've had it on PS3 since launch but for $22 its a bargain. Now I can put the PS3 on eBay :)
