Event Cinemas 50 Points to See a Free Movie - It's Back!

191

I got this in my email a couple days ago.
I couldn't find a link on the Event Cinemas website, but I tried going through the online booking system and it appears to work. However I suggest redeeming at the box office as online booking incurs the dreaded online booking fee - $1.10

Terms and conditions
*Offers restricted to Cine Buzz members only. All offers valid for redemption or purchase Thursday 20th October to 12pm Sunday 13th November 2011. Offer can be redeemed or purchased online or at the box office, online booking fee applies. Excluding Vmax, Gold Class, film festivals and special events. Subject to availability and session capacity.

I like where this is going.

except all the games they've lost to Geelong this year?

  • I tried to redeem at Event Morley WA on Saturday (didn't know about the 50points deal) and they said it had to be done online.

    • Oh ok. The terms and conditions says it can be done at the box office.
I haven't tried myself yet. Was planning to go this weekend.

  • my cinebuzz still showing 100 points ='(

  • I still see 1 free ticket = 100 points when I make the booking online …

  • good timing have over 100 built up because I never use them.

    anything good on though??

  • Sweet, I always save up my Cinebuzz points until the 50 points deal is on offer, so I'll be taking advantage of this, though there hasn't been much I've wanted to see of late.

  • or you can use 100 points for a gold class ticket.
    winning!

  • Accidentaly clicked pos, but was going to neg.
This must be a specific special, as mine still shows the normal 100 points required:

    • have u tried to book a movie and see how many points u need?

      • Not sure I want to do this, as it might accidentally book? (have never done this so not sure if there is a confirmation screen showing the amount of points)

At the risk of being negged into oblivion, but it seems like it is specific to certain members.
This is what it looks like for me:

I dunno how they choose who gets what deal though.

not valid for me either .. bugger, have 250 points! Agreed must be a specific special'

  • Yeah can't see it available for me either - even on the initial checkout screen online it still lists 100 points…

  • The one i got in my email similar wording, allows me to use 50 points to upgrade to vmax or 100 points to upgrade to gold class, if i buy standard ticket…

So possible specific to user, or state. shrug

    • I got that one too … seems when I tried though it tried to charge me $26 for a "standard ticket" .. Since when is $26 a standard price ticket! Might try again to see if it's any different now!

      • Standard vmax/gold class maybe?

  • I didnt get said email, but now when I login is says my card needs to be activated. Goodbye 200 Points. epic database fail!!!

  • Ok I just got the email today, and this is what it says for me:

REDEEM CINE BUZZ POINTS FOR FREE UPGRADES TO VMAX OR GOLD CLASS']
For a strictly limited time, you are invited to take advantage of this fantastic offer, available only to eligible members.
Purchase a standard adult ticket and redeem 50 Cine Buzz points for a free upgrade to Vmax or 100 points for a free upgrade to the luxury of Gold Class.
Plus for a free ticket to a standard session, redeem 50 Points, that half the points normally required.

However, when trying to check out it still lists 100 points.

  • I received the "Only 50 points instead of 100 to see a movie" email, and when I spoke to the lady at the counter she didn't know what I was talking about, but was happy to oblige after I showed her the email on my phone. Great Deal :)

  • I think I will use this to see Warrior, heard good reports. I have 180 points built up lol. they will probably expire soon because I never use them, just get the $10 Optus tickets.
