Looks like 30% is the new normal in JB
If consumers stop buying at 30% then 50% will be the new norm.
This also excludes pre-orders.

This is good to see JB starting to scramble from the opposition. I'm old enough to remember when JB first appeared on the scene they put all the old record stores out of business by selling their CD's a fair bit cheaper than they all did. It was sad to see.
They dominated the market for a while and now an even bigger fish in Amazon has come along and JB is feeling the pinch doing 30% off sales regularly now. The problem is 30% off of already heavily marked up DVD's/BR/4K are still not attractive prices which is a big part of the reason I don't bother with JB Hi-Fi anymore.
JB was great until the IB (profanity) from Macquarie came on board and expanded the business to flog it off to the sharemarket.
Now it's just a regular Hardley normal type business, but with uni student hipsters at the counter instead of a middle aged disinterested dude (HN)
amazon seems to be matching the sale.
