This is Lagavulin's standard 16 year old, and a benchmark Islay whisky that few others can top, imo.
Got a bottle this afternoon after using a 5% off ebay voucher. Didn't get a chance to post the deal here yet. Good job OP. When I saw the listing this afternoon, I called Dan's customer service number and asked if they could price match their ebay listing price, the guy on the phone said they cannot do it even though it is their own store listing. Sounded weird why they would prefer to rather pay ebay fees than to sell direct to the customer. When I went to Melbourne QV store to pick it up, the manager didn't even know that Dan's sell their alcohol through ebay. But said they can price match their ebay listing price at store manager's discretion. Probably worth a try for someone who rather give the money direct to Dan's than to purchase through ebay.

Well. They are never going down to 85aud anytime soon and have been hovering at 120s for a while now. I simply load up on as many bottles I can get for it when the prices are sub 100.

The price increase was unfortunate, but it is one of the few price increases I can look at and say, yeah fair enough though, there was nothing else in the 80aud price range that could really compete with lagavulin 16, even though I'm an Ardbeg 10 man, lagavulin is probably the more well rounded and overall more pleasing drink.
The real shame is that the lagavulin 12 could be had for 130 or 150 back in the day and is now up to 200. A travesty.
