Making a Garage Door "Smart" - Alternative to Wemo Maker?

What are the options to make a garage door "smart" nowadays? I've bought a Wemo Maker from bunnings in the past that works well, but this product is discontinued and there doesn't seem to be an alternative to it?

What does everyone else use?

    Gogogate

  • I’m using iSmartgate. Works well with HomeKit. Only issue is you either need to get the hardwire sensor otherwise the wireless sensor it comes with needs battery changes quite often.

  • Awesome thanks for the recommendation. Found a pretty in-depth review of it here.

    $199 here hmm…..

No need to carry remote, open using voice or the app on your phone. Multiple users can do so as well. You can also open the garage remotely, for example if you are at the shops and a courier or friend arrives, you can open the garage and let them in.

      • Hey can I also add a question… Do these let you know via the app / in the app whether you've left the garage door open by accident?

If you've got an ATA garage door motor you can add one of these:

  • TOOGOO WiFi Switch Garage Door Controller for Garage Door Opener, APP Remote Control Timing Voice Control
    Sold by: Xproject6666

    Works really well, 2.4ghz only.

My D-Link VIPER 3900, 2600 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Modem Router didn't pick it up, had to turn off 5ghz then it connected to the 2.4 ni worries.

Anyway its also google, alexa, and ifttt compatible.

  • i've done this with the broadlink rm pro- absolutely brilliant and so cheap (about $40, old version 3). opens with voice commands to siri/ google, or iphone shortcuts and app.

    • How you do that? An RM Pro doesn’t learn rolling codes?

      • no idea lol! never heard of rolling codes before- maybe my garage opener doesn't use them? i just taught the rmpro my remote by pointing at it- that was all. it all seemed to work fine after that.i have a boss garage controller, about 12 years old

  • Does bunnings sell any of these?
