Decent Webcams at a fair price

I am after a couple of decent webcams. Dont need flashy, just a decent brand with a decent picture and a microphone that works. You know, the ones that were in huge bins in every electrical retailer for $30 each pre-covid.

Officeworks only has the $200+ ones (overkill for Zoom) and I've just been ripped off on ebay by shocking quality 'no brands'.

Anyone got any suggestions? Was even thinking of Harvey Norman but not sure I will ever get THAT desperate :)

I use phone with USB cable + droidcam
Recently ordered this but yet to be delivered.

    • Thinking to get the 1080p Amazon webcam you linked. Has yours arrived? Is it as good as the Amazon reviews say (5 stars)? Any issues/concerns with it?

      • It is ok for the price as branded ones are too expensive now. There is no auto focus and has manual focusing ring as mentioned in the description. It is too wide angled for my room and I am using OBS to crop it and use OBS VirtualCam with Zoom. Max resolution seems to be 1080p 30fps, has USB Audio as well (but I didn't test much because I am using a headset).

Just checked the link and it seems now there are multiple sellers who were not there when I bought it.
I got from this seller, "Sold by Gemwon-au , Fulfilled by Amazon". Hence, I got it delivered soon and directly from the Amazon warehouse with some other items in the same order (also Prime eligible).

Thanks for the info. Don't think the wide angle will be too much of a problem for me, but good to know about the OBS solution.

Yeah luckily I saw the one fulfilled by Amazon as the other one won't arrive til late October. Funny thing was, price dropped twice while I was browsing the 2 sellers and saved $3.5 :).

Went ahead and ordered one. Appreciate the input.

  • Why do you need one for
