  • no IP68?

    • At this price? Then buy LG previous gen flagships.

Still no local Australian warranty and a hassle to go back to seller. Remember, Samsung Australia do not want to entertain overseas model at all when it comes to warranty.

    • Yeah, I'd be more inclined to get it from Kogan for an extra $40 (I assume they'd be pretty good about honouring 12 months on their imported phones) or wait for another allphones ebay sale for ~$470.

Not sure the point of buying a Samsung phone without getting the warranty. I had an S7 that kept crashing, walked into the store, walked out with a brand new one 15 minutes later. If you're not going to get that level of service might as well go with Xiaomi with specs out the wazoo.

  • How much better in value is it compared to Oppo A72?

    • Apart from AMOLED for the A51, pretty similar specs. Only issue with the A72 - Optus only and single SIM IIRC. Better off the with the A52 for $279 delivered with full 2 year Australian warranty and 2 SIM slots + SD slot. Add a 128Gb SD card for around $24 and you're sorted.

  • B28 and NFC?

    • beware you cannot use Samsung pay as oversea model.

      • I had several Samsung overseas model phones in the past (S7, S8, A7 2018). I never had problem using Samsung Pay on those phones.

Seems like a good deal, but warranty is a concern. You could return it within 180 days with paypal returns if not described, but I don't think you will get any coverage beyond that.

I have a oppo reno z at the moment and totally hate the camera. Thinking of holding out for a local A51 deal or pay alittle more for a A71. Do any users have experience with the camera's on either of these phones?

I am with you on that. I had Reno Z for almost a year and hated the camera. The higher megapixels are good for nothing. Purchased it for $400. Sold it for $300 on Ebay last month and got myself Huawei Mate 20 pro for $599 from Hardly Normal. Even though its a 2018 model its a very good phone. One of the best cameras on the market. Pretty happy with it so far.

I'm glad I'm not alone. The camera is totally useless and is worse than my redmi note 5 for back in the day. I don't want to buy anything Chinese made again, so Huawei, I will avoid. I was considering the 1plus nord, but the plastic frame is a turn-off. Might even buy one of these Samsungs on amazon, so I can return if crap. Glad you found a solution. Not sure about other oppo models, but was such a turn-off. Should have spent more on better photos quality, than high Meg cameras
