Everyone remembers those eBay 20% sales (good guys, bing lee, tech, etc). I used to get quite a bit of stuff from futu_online. Haven't noticed one this year, vs the heaps in 2018/2019.
Did I miss something, are they gone for good, replaced with some eBay Plus thing. No idea.
Have a few things in my watch list. Won't get them, way overpriced compared to staticice.com.au but slightly better once 20% off is applied.
Ideas?
ebay plus happened and killed them all. :(
They also may have been part of a marketing budget as ebay partnered with big retailers, at the time. There were some great New 3DS deals back then.

It also may be that buyer participation dropped in the face of continual alleged (didn't look myself so can't say) instances of pricejacking pre buy day.

Amazon happened, more specifically Amazon prime leading to ebay plus.
Well Amazon fizzled. They had eBay worried for a second.
I wouldn't say Amazon fizzled, look at all the categories they are expanding into, and for what its worth, the consistency of their features on this site. Definitely not the big bang everyone was expecting, but they are just steadily growing and developing in the background….
I find i buy a lot more on amazon sales than ebay sales.
@mbck: Same also many got scammed for their $1 annual fee and got charged $49 full amount i'm pissed off after that never eBay again

I have not purchased anything off eBay since 2019 Jan. Basically its dead those deals and requires eBay plus. no good anymore.
I buy from Amazon more these days
I think online retail is doing so well with Covid-19 there's no real pressure to put good discounts on, sadly.
