  • any first hand reviews pls? thanks

Yeah it works. If you have multiple people using it you will need to make sure only one person has the app open at any time. Otherwise fine for basic weight tracking.

      Works with Fitbit.

      • Thanks my friend !!

Yeah it's pretty good, as poxy said.

I can't speak to how accurate it is, however it is quite precise. If you're tracking your weight, that's all that matters. (i.e. if it's consistently out by 1kg, it doesn't really matter, so long as it is always out by that much).

What I can say is the body fat percentage and other stats are very likely not accurate. The method of assessing this through plates on your feet is one of the least accurate ways to go about doing it, but it gives a rough idea if you're looking more big picture.

Overall, very decent price for a decent scale

I have this and I note that in order to use the associated bluetooth app you have to give it access to all permissions (photos, calls, location etc.) before it will even let you open up to sign in. You can allow access then go to settings and turn them back off but the app will pick up on this in a few days without fail every time.

Big red flag to me so I stopped using the companion app (which seemed to be inaccurate anyway). Now it's just a glorified digital scale tbh

      • Mileage seems to vary with this one.

The Renpho app has only required the location permission for me, and I have it set for only when the app is open. Every other permission is off and hasn't been requested since I bought it a few months ago.

Maybe try a reinstall? I've got a Note 9, if it helps anyone choosing whether to buy or not

The Openscale app works as a third-party weight tracking app too if you are concerned about permissions

        • Thanks for this - will check it out

      • +1

Openscale works well on Android, I didn't even give the renpho app a chance after it asked for so much access
        Edit: too slow

      • I had this same issue when I bought this scale last year.
Didn't want to give all these unnecessary permissions so found another app to sync with that didn't do that.
The scale itself is good, it's a bit small but it works.

Worked for about 6 months before it developed a habit of chewing thru new batteries in less then a few days. Tried recharegeables, and two sets of brand new alkalines. Others reported the same issue online. Ended up chucking it out and got the usb rechargeable version… been working fine. Great scales but I'd avoid this battery model and go for the rechargeable version.

    • Worked well for a few months before it refused to switch on, same thing happened to the replacement. Cannot fault AC Green's customer service though, they were very prompt with the refund.

    • Bought one a while back, works great provides a lot of details besides just weight but not sure how accurate they are. Agreed with one of the commenters about battery, definitely goes through them quickly so be sure to have rechargeable ones.

I bought this and returned it, it was miscalibrated and would consistently show 5kg light

      • I would be happy if my scale tells me im 5kg lighter :D :D

    • I have one at home I got on the last special. Very good - with the usual caveats about impedance-based fat % readings, if you weight at consistent times, the results are good. The app is better than I expected, with the charts being most useful over time to identify trends - much more useful than one off measurements for measuring with reduced error. At this price, 10/10 recommend.

    • I like it, app is fine. Works pretty fast to do the measurements and stuff, I appreciate it.

Arghh, bought one a few days ago and it arrived yesterday…

    • +1

Same! Does Amazon do anything for this normally?

      • +2

Buy this, Return the other one.
"Under the Amazon AU returns policy you may return most new, unopened items sold and fulfilled by Amazon AU within 30 days of receipt of delivery for a full refund of the price you paid for the item. "

They have many parcel drop off points around my area. Should be plenty around Australia.

    • Just ordered one too, and only last night lol. Am trying Pelilah's idea of returning the first when it gets delivered tomorrow.

      • Wow, would have been good to know that they charge us to return items like this. Bloody $7 too. Useless service for cheaper items like this.

  • Great Price Op!

  • thanks op, got one.

  • I like mine!

  • Have used these for a few years. They work well and the app is great.

  • Cheers Op, got one on the way! :)

  • Hmm, not sure what's wrong. Showing up as $35.99 for me.

    • Have u added the promo code at checkout.

      • Yeah, tried. Says it cannot be applied to my purchase. Am I supposed to buy something else with it? The Kitchen scale..?

        • Nope. Worked for me by itself. I just tried buying another one though and get that error also.

          • @Slo20: Yeah, what a bummer. I was pretty keen.

        • The promo code only works on the Black scale version for me.

Worked ok for me just now…

      • Yeah it's working for me now as well. Don't know what to say.

    • +1

      Worked for me also.

  • Yeah unfortunately doesn't work for the white version.

  • I'm using this scale. Nothing to complain even though results between their app and OpenScale are quite different so I don't know which one is accurate. Good for tracking weight changes though.

A red flag about this company: every few months it would send an email telling you to buy another product (massage gun, massage chair, etc.) then leave a review on Amazon and it would refund the money, as a "special deal for VIP customer in Australia". When I replied to get more info and I just completely got ignored. I wonder if it's a sale trick where someone will just buy those products without double checking and the company would not refund them for any reason they can think of?

I use these scales apart of medical treatment and find them pretty consistent. Only issue would be it says my metabolic age is like 7+ years older than i am so be prepared for the scale to call you unhealthy. would recommend.

  • +3

I did a quick review of this scale on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzW6XEVmUEE
It works great - I was really surprised by how easily it connected to my phone, probably the easiest bluetooth integration I've seen from a smart device.

RENPHO is a U.S. company. ok. the scale is manufactured in China… Yeah, no thanks.

    • +2

What is your point? Most companies out source their manufacturing to China?

  • +1

Connects and sync's seamlessly into Apple Health, 3 user's. Have battery version probably would've preferred getting chargeable though.

  • Have one of these for over a year or even more now - can recommend, especially at this price. As others said, not very sure about its accuracy, but pretty cool. I like the app as well, gives you graphs and trends of your progress. This is my first smart scale, so havent got anything else I can compare it to, but I am happy with this one.
Batteries doing ok so far. Have had to change them once, the ones that came with it to begin with. Cant remember what I put in it now, but have been going good for a long time now. Have 4 users setup and as others said, you need to choose the user who you want to sync the data on to.
Long story short, you cant go wrong with this one for an average home user.

  • I bought one few months ago, but had to return it as it won't turn back on after changing batteries. Lemon for me.

  • Thanks OP. Had my eye on one of these for a while.

  • Thanks OP, placed the order
