Was a PS Plus free game a while back. Check your PS Plus first before you buy. It's brave to sell an ex-PS Plus game at this price.
It's still in my PS Plus pile of shame.
Is it worth getting this game if I never played any game in the GoW franchise?
Just play the latest one - God of War (2018).
I've been spoiled with current gen games. I played GoW3 (2015 - remastered) for 2 hours when it was offered free on PS Plus. Problem is that I played God of War (2018) beforehand and I found it hard to then play GoW3. Despite the remaster, it still feels last gen.
No, get the latest 2018 one instead. Frequently discounted to $19/$22 on Amazon.

Note: This is NOT the latest and greatest God of War game that everyone's been raving about for couple years. Still a good game though.
