You'd want carbon steel for a wok. Cast iron is too heavy.

Came here to say the same thing

Carbon steel is what you want. Also cheaper than this deal.

    • Do you know a good deal for a good carbon steel wok?

  • Thanks! Just ordered

  • I got a pyrolux carbon steel skillet (the blue steel one, I think?) on a pretty deep discount and was very unimpressed with it. It came with some kind finish applied that felt like a powder coat (but I'm sure wasn't) which was awful. I'd go lodge, or really any other brand, but that's just one experience.

    • Also experienced this with a pyrolux carbon steel skillet. It warped the first time I used it and no longer sat flat on a glass cooktop. I ended up returning it.

      • Well theres a good reason to stay away from the carbon steel stuffs,

Can always use a tool to turn and toss items?

The Cast is good for getting hot and retaining heat and unless you have a serious wok burner at home (think jet engine) it might be better for the gas cooktops we all have

        • Yep, it's a very different product, I just thought I'd mention a bad experience with the brand.

  • Is this good for making egg fried rice? Asking for a friend.
