Uber Eats Drivers and Vic Permitted Worker Permits

So recently someone I know has signed up as an uber eats driver just so they are able to get a delivery sticker / workers permit. He's assuming the permit will allow him to drive anywhere since he's working as a delivery driver (even though he doesn't plan on doing any deliveries or the bare minimum).

Are there any uber eats delivery drivers out there in Victoria that can confirm as an uber eats driver you can go anywhere to "pickup deliveries"? are you still limited to 5k? what about curfew times?

Permit limits you to a 'specified area and its surrounding areas'

Unless you want to make like 20 permits to travel around wherever

IF you get pulled over. You say you're doing UberEats but the app is not active on your phone and it shows your last delivery was like never or not near where you are.

Some people believe they are such geniuses with their creativeness but just can't carry through the detail. Proof doesn't need to be smart, it just needs to logical to people with common sense.

This. Uber eats drivers are pulled over often and they have to show they are on way too or from a delivery.
Neighbour is a driver and says he gets stopped maybe two or three times a night after 8pm. They ask to see permit and then ask to view app to see delivery history etc.

You would be on your way to a delivery or at home and the app would show this.

Uber eats drivers can’t just hang out waiting for deliveries after 8pm

They are permitted to drive from their place of residence to a pick up then to a delivery.
They can then go to next pick up if they have one scheduled. If they do not they must return to their home.

Are you sure you are asking these questions for a friend? Must be your 'best friend' as you seem to be coming up with new arguments to counter facts hoping your 'friend' could somehow find a loophole to evade the law.

          • @websterp: I never said friend, I said someone I know. I would report him if I could, but how do I provide evidence if he's making the arguments I am?
Plus even if I could report him, I don't know when he'll be out.

@arkie0: You don't need to report "him".

Tell the person (youself) to stay home. You're not above everyone else

  • Are Uber eats drivers employed by Uber or are they operating as contractors?

    • Contractors.

  • It's a fantastic idea. Tell your friend it is perfectly fine. The cops won't know what hit em.

Cruising around all night on empty streets like a baller.
