I have many of the Wera kits and decided to buy one for fathers day and found the above set 8100-SB-6 for $173.20 on Amazon UK via AU.
Was planning to stack with 3% off GC ~~+ the 6% on Home via Shopback. ~~

Bunnings seems to have taken the Wera range off the online store. :(

But I got the price lowered as I went to Bunnings and they beat it by 10% for $156.60

If you are looking at this post then you know these quality tools and this set has the Zyklop ratchet with swivel head.
Very much a bargain IMHO even at the premium end of the price scale.

Kit comes in a nice secure pouch that is great for the car/bike road trips. Of all the kits, I found this 3/8 drive kit combination to be most useful.
Comes with the socket and driver bits that you find common around the house / car / bike.

Fumbling with my king chrome set not 5 minutes ago. Broke a deep socket and now bloody attachment clicky ball thing is stuck so the attachment falls out with gravity.

    Screw it. I'm getting this.

  • Dunno if it has enough attachments. Love the head though.

See the warning in the description re: cancer? Heh.

    • +1

Only causes cancer in California. Everything does there.

(Also, standard size attachment so you can always buy from a different brand if you need more stuff.)

    • +1

Cancer only in California. But this passes the Assault Tools Ban cause this has 29 piece instead of the 30 piece classification.

won't this be cheaper to use for price beat ($150.64 includes shipping) will be $135.58.

    • Thats the SA kit - drive is 1/4". Its a smaller kit but handy as well of you intend to use for home and office use.
I have a kit at work in my draw.

      • +1

Yeah just realized that its slightly different.

      • +2

I have a kit at work in my draw.

I have an image of you poncing around at work like the Milky Bar Kid with the kit in your holster, hands to your side, ready.

        • Lol. TBH most of the maintenance are done by facilities. I've only used the kit a few times, but just a handy thing to have.

  • If you're going to put a fair amount of torque through the handle (working on tight car bolts/nuts for instance) you will not want to use these type of swivel head ratchet. The swivel head moves around too much and causes a lot of slippage, bloody knuckles and wasted effort. Better off using a regular ratchet + extension + uni-joint for those instances you need to play with angles. Else if you're serious about your kit and want a versatile do all swivel head, get an indexable and lockable ratchet.

    • This wont move around as the swivel locks at 90, 75, 45, 180^ with a quick flip. I have the 1/2" drive version and I can put 200nm+ as the grip is superior vs the length.
I have the snap on style in the tool trolley and usually either its too long or need grippy gloves to use.

    • If you're going to put a lot of torque you just use an L type wrench - there's no need to break your ratchets

  • Looked at these before, still wondering if these are worth the premium over something like Repco's swivel ratchet which has lifetime warranty.

    • +1

Probably not. If it's general use then the Repco / Supercheap ToolPro are more than enough.

If it's a quality tool up there with Snapon, just at a better price, I recommend this one from Tekton which I have.

Yep. Can't really rate snap on any higher than this but even if I did, I can't justify the massive price diff.

  • Did anyone else successfully get Bunnings to price match Amazon? I didn't expect them to match an import from Amazon UK.

    • Yes. I've posted a photo of the receipt from Bunnings @ $156 price beat in the title

      • Yup, I was wondering if anyone else managed to get a price beat too, or if you just got lucky. Sometimes it's a gamble, especially if it's a parallel import.

        • I have priced matched other Wera items at other Bunnings too. I think if you're nice and explain the situation behind it. Just show them that you can get it checked out and stock is available on your phone. I've done the same for other Wera items recently from another store and no issues.

          • @pegasusx: I tried just now, they said they couldn't as it's an import.
I did manage to price-match the Tool Check Plus at another store though. They didn't have the Zyklop in stock unfortunately.

The Zyklop is $195 in-store at the moment.

            • @eug: Hmm.. Strange. Did you show them its ordered via Amazon AU? The policy is that it must go via amazon.com.au and not via.com .co.uk etc.
Oh. I think they are adjusting their prices to match.

              • @pegasusx:

Did you show them its ordered via Amazon AU?

Yup, but the listing does say it's by Amazon UK. They were checking to see where it was being shipped from, they say they can only beat local stock.

                • @eug: Bugger. All three of the shops I've been too were okay with it. Some also surprised that its that cheap online.

  • Bunnings seems to have taken the Wera range off the online store. :(

  • OzBargained. Amazon AU has blocked items from Amazon UK

  • Back in stock.
