I saw this oldschool ad in an equally oldschool physical Sunday Age today and well, I thought the ad looked like it should be given a digital boost (https://snipboard.io/CeNOzU.jpg)

I've no idea on what it's like (the reviews on page look good) and interested to hear your comments. No fast charging or usb-c is the main omissions I've seen from other units including this popular one:

    • A noob question. I got a dead battery on a 2006 Audi Q7 TDI Quattro T/Diesel 7 Seater. Will iTech or Gooloo jump starter bring the battery to life.?

      • +1

Not the battery but probably the car, which can then charge the battery (if it's not completely stuffed). I've used the 2000A Gooloo to start cars that are completely flat with no signs of life.

        • Thanks for your response. I think battery drained overnight due to running lights and forgot to lock it. :(

          • +1

@AussieMate: Worst case if it doesn't bring your car back to life you can return the Gooloo one and get a refund as amazon has a really good returns system, and amazon would give you a free shipping label so you won't have to pay return shipping.

            • @jayboi: I was going through all feedback regarding Gooloo and just hit the order from Amazon. Nice Deal.
Thanks for the heads-up on Amazon returns. I will see how I go.!

          • @AussieMate: I think my battery drained overnight due to running lights and forgot to lock it. My Mobile mechanic asked me to buy AGM battery as replacement. Low on budget atm.

            • +1

@AussieMate: AGM batteries are really expensive, one time my mate had to replace his on a Volkswagen Golf 2016 and he was quoted $400 to replace but found one for $350

            • +1

@AussieMate: I didnt even think AGM was used as starting battery, seems like they are good for cold environments but dont like heat from under the bonnet. If there isnt a good reason for it i would be trying to get a plain sealed lead acid.

You might be better off with a battery charger. I have the gooloo jump starter and the below. The plus is that you won't have to drive the car for an hour after jumping it but the negative is that you need to plug it in to the mains.

    • I bought one of these too. But it lacks a 19V outlet for laptops.
My old powerbank has a 19 V outlet and a chrage percentage display, but far less Amps for starting. Only paid $12 though so it has its uses.

    • Just thought I'd share the promo code in case anyone misses it: $51 off with promo code EKH4W4LI reduces price to $98.99.

A discount on an RRP that is way overpriced is no bargain. I have the gooloo one that I got for about $85 and it's great so I'm confused why you'd need to spend twice as much unless you're a fool.

  • Add store name in title please

I think these are overpriced to pay for the heavy newspaper advertising & aiming for the Mums & Dads that wont shop around on the internet.

  • interested to hear read your comments.

  • This vs goloo vs noco genius ?

  • I have one of these that I started a 1.3lt 4cyl petrol car with a dead battery. It started fine very quickly but then the black box that is part of the croc clip assembly emitted a continuous beep until being removed from the battery pack.
It no longer puts out any voltage at the croc clips but the terminals of the battery pack itself still puts out 12V+.
I opened the croc clip black box and it has a bank of 8 mosfets that are blown.
If it struggles with such a small engine i wouldn't like to rely on it for a big engine.
If the battery was partly charged it would have probably been fine.

  • Father in law has gone through two of these as they just stop charging all of a sudden. I bought one of their smaller batteries to charge my drone batteries in the field and it stopped charging one day. Took them back and got a full refund
