Updating 2015 Toyota Camry Map

So, I have a 2015 toyota camry with navigator. Dealership is asking for 165$ to update the maps. Anyone knows a cheaper way to update the map?

  • If it's a Camry Atara SL, by memory they're a HDD based system and need a serial number updating via TMC Japan to allow a map update is to be completed. I don't think you'll find it cheaper elsewhere and your friend Torrance won't be able to help either.

New android head unit would only be about $250 with the ability to download offline maps.

Although tbh google maps on the phone is a bit more convenient to use.

  • Is not the system with a SD card slot? I always assumed that was for updating the maps in my old Corolla.

For the love of God why do you not use your phone?

Car Navigation blows unless it's a S-Class Mercedes or Rolls Royce with a 4G system and in-car wifi lol…even then Waze and Google Maps is better.

  • $165 take it, i have an aurion and last time i asked it was $300+

I remember that as a kid, "updating the maps" simply included opening the glovebox, tossing out the old Gregorys or Melways and putting in the new one that cost about $30!

  • Lucky your car is not Audi. Q5 2012 cost $600 to update.

    • Better still, the two vehicles we own,it’s free!

    • lol……Toyota In-car navigation with touchscreen is like $800.
