WA needs to step up their game with solar rebates.

  • Hi, when will you start installation if we were to sign up? And for the paying the stage 4 electricity bill, will you cover 6 weeks? We are billed quarterly.

    • Hi

Installation will be after the stage 4 lockdown.

Please see below our COVID Update while explains everything, I have also added a link to the Solar Vic website with detailed info.

Yes we will cover the bill starting from 2nd August to 13th of September (6 weeks of lockdown) you can read details on our website on how the payment will be made. Bills will be emailed to us and we will calculate based on your daily charge plus your usage x your peak and off peak rate.

      Cerium Energy COVID-19 update

As you are aware Victoria has moved into Stage 4 restrictions. Cerium Energy will be working closely with government bodies and agencies to make sure that we abide by all and any protocols that we deem necessary. All of our office staff, operations team and installation crew are subject to stringent health checks.

Installations in Metro Melbourne regions are subject to Stage 4 restrictions while Regional Victoria is subject to Stage 3 restrictions.

      METRO Melbourne

During this period solar installations will be delayed pending updates from the government, at this stage 4 is for 6 weeks ending mid-September.

There are instances that installations can go ahead such as:

      Where critical repairs are required in an emergency or for safety reasons;
Unoccupied residential premises such as new buildings or renovations where the premises are fully vacated

We will contact all customers closer to easing of restrictions to organise installations in a smooth and efficient manner.

The State government has advised that Solar Installs for residential installations cannot proceed under the Stage 4 Lockdown. P[lease see link below for further information.

      https://www.solar.vic.gov.au/solar-homes-program-coronavirus…

We understand this is a significant delay however we are all in this together and we hope that the lockdown is eased before the expected date. We will book installation closer to the end of the lockdown and provide sufficient notice.

  • How good are these panels and inverters?

    • +1

They are decent brands, we would call them much better than entry level.

With panels and inverters we look at brands who have a local Australian officr for warranty issues, that way even if the company who installed it is no longer in business you will be able to claim warranty directly with the manufacturer.

Another item to look out for is the physical product warranty (atleast 12 years plus) as the performance guarantee (25 years) only covers efficency and not physical damage.

Goodwe is a quality inverter, other good options for budget conscious customers is Sungrow followed by Huawei. Top end are SMA and Fronius with a significant price difference.

Serpahim is a quality brand at a very good price, other comparable brands are Jinko, Risen and Trina which are only slightly more costly.

Mid range to high range are as follows: Q Cells, Hyundai and top of the list is LG, Sunpower and REC.

Happy to chat and give more info feel free to send me a Primave Messege or call during business hours on 03 8322 9999.

  • Hi OP… having a think about this and how may fit for my house. Due to the roof / where sun is may be a little trickier possibly.

How much roof space is typically required for the 18 panels? (what are are the dimensions of a single panel)? I assume they could be done in a “2 panel height x 9 long” setup along the side of house roof potentially?

    Thanks in advance!

    • +1

      Hi

Panels are 1052cm wide and 1776 long, yes you are correct we would normally install in 2 rows of 9 depending on the roof layout. There is a minimal clearance from the ridge and gutter to take into account as well.

We always do a propeety specific layout at the quoting stage using nearmaps software which measures the roof and places the panels appropriately.

If you would like please visit our website and fill in the quote form with all your details and we can send out a property specific layout and quote to see what can be installed.

Feel free to reach out to myself via private message or call our office at 03 8322 9999 during business hours

      Regards

      Matt

      • Thanks for the detailed reply, cheers
