Dead Cells is on every platform. Not sure how that justifies the Switch lol, especially when it had awful performance for ages at first

Agree, it is awesome on the switch. The pickup / putdown nature of the switch is perfect for its gameplay loop.
What is so great about Ori and The Blind Forest? I've played the demo and it just seem like nothing special.
Yeah it's pretty basic. Story is cute enough but the bar for Metroidvanias is much higher than that these days.
far more puzzle oriented over combat of other metroidvanias. Depends on what your preference is in that regard.
Blind Forest is slow to get started, but once it does it is fantastic. Will of the Wisps is much faster to get to the fun stuff. Overall great metroidvania's.
Was literally looking to get Dead Cells yesterday, but thought i would wait for a deal. Perfect timing :)

I saw that. TBH it doesn't look great for that price.
Haven't tried DC with the new update which sounds like a big revamp. It was good. The update might be polarising, but if you haven't played it before you wouldn't know any different
Old version I worked out an invincibility cheat from the patch notes. It was the only way I could finish 5BC. Also it meant nearly 100 cells/minute runs.
Ps: alternatively you can savescum but don't do it once the 5bc boss fight has initiated.. It hangs and you'll need to restart. I found that out practicing to get a no hit victory. Turn off your auto cloud save and don't quit the battle.

Recently started this on Xbox (it's still on Game Pass). I had put it off for so long… not sure why since it's absolutely phenomenal. Have been hooked by the gameplay loop but struggling with the third boss cell.
Very tempted to buy it on the Switch as it seems like a perfect home. Can anyone comment on how the performance compares?

That's good to hear. The combat really needs to be smooth and I can imagine a lot of frustrating if the performance caused a death.
Wish they'd just put the DLC on sale.
Dead Cells is one of the games that justifies buying the Switch. Awesome game, give it an hour or 2 to get a hold of it and you'll see it truely shine!
