10% off Crucial SSDs (Crucial M4 128GB for $200 Delivered)

450

10% off SSDs. Just be sure to remember the $25 international postage. This doesn't actually turn out too bad in price compared to pc case gear (currently $239 + $12 postage for 128gb m4), whereas the same unit will cost ($209-10%) $189 + $25 = $214US * 0.94 = around $200.

Also note the crucial m4 128gb is very popular and highly recommended amongst whirlpool + other sites.

  • If you're after the 512GB one, it's $699 on Amazon.com with around $6 shipping.

    • Amazon won't ship that directly to Australia, you'd have to go through a 3rd party shipper.

        Why wouldn't they?

"Shipping: This item is also available for shipping to select countries outside the U.S."

Sorry I clicked the wrong one when trying it out. If you pick the one with the data transfer kit, they won't send it. But the bare drive works.

          Cheers.

        • Just ordered the 128gb with the data transfer kit.

Received an email saying there's a 7-10day wait for stock though.

      • I just bought one from Amazon 2 weeks ago. Shipping was only $6.xx to Sydney :)

  • Tempting… about $400 delivered for the 256gb one, still waiting for them to come down to about the $300 mark though.

Good price but I thought this SSD is not as good as other brands….

    • I've had awesome success with this brand in MacBook Pros. I think I've gotten about 5 of them now? Awesome drives. There was one model that was flakey out of the factory, but there was a firmware fix released soon after. Maybe that's the model you heard about?

  • I've been using a 64gb ssd for OS for over a year now. Still got plenty of space left (~20gb).
Maybe I dun really need a bigger one?

    • How do you do it? I have a 512GB one and it's already half full.

      • Same here, 60GB and only using 32GB so far. Do you install games or movies/music on yours cynix?

      • I got OS plus a couple of games like SC2.
But I think the bottleneck is the Internet, not the hard drive.
See no reason to put anything other than OS on there in my case.
Maybe it helps if you use stuff like photoshop.

      • I have an OCZ Vertex 2 120GB and only have the operating system and apps installed on it so using about 40GB of the capacity right now. I use standard drives for music/movies etc.

If you read all the reviews on this drive they are quite good.. Especially after the 0009 Firmware update..
This drive doesn't use the troubled Sandforce controller.

I just bought one 2 days ago from PCCASEGEAR.. NO way in hell would i buy a SSD from overseas.. Local warranty is a must for SSD

    • +3

I think buying direct from the manufacturer is a safe bet.

      • +2

Well that depends - does the manufacturer have a local return point in Australia? Or do you need to ship the goods back to the US for warranty claims?

I tried to find this info on Crucial's site but it wasn't readily visible.

    • No worries buying direct from the manufacturer. i've had to return Crucial Ballistix RAM direct to Crucial in the US before with no issues. They have your records so no proof of purchase required.

      • Were you able to put it into a normal padded envelope, or did they want it in a box?

  • Warranty clause on their website claims that all SSDs have a warranty of 3 years.

    • Just as good as Intel. I was about to buy this drive earlier this week but went for Intel because it has 5 years warranty, but at this pricing would have settled for M4.

    • Is this international though? Or will we have to ship it back to the states?

  • so anything below 128gb is not a bargain?

    • +3

Depends on how much YOU need. Everyone has different needs. 128GB seems like the sweet spot in terms of price to storage at the moment though.

  • Bought one last night, got an email saying that its on backorder for 7 days ):

    • Ditto. I bought the 512GB version; it says it may take up to 7 days to process. I also saw Amazon run out of stock and go onto backorder too.

      I'm a little disappointed, but I'll survive.

      • I ordered it on the Friday and they sent it on the Monday. I'll have it by the end of the week. I can't complain about that!

  • I dont seem to able to buy it at $189+25, my total always ends up as $209+25. Does the $189 price tag appear in checkout or after you pay?

    • The offer has expired.

Another suggestion for you all is B&H. It's 187.95 + 32.26 USD shipping… (so $5 USD extra than this deal) but if you wanted any other flash media, camera gear.. could take advantage of lower shipping. Shipping is just 4-6 days and they have stock.

I tend to agree with Megahowler though, for ssd a local warranty is a big plus (although I just ordered a Renice X3 from HK…)

    • Why?
