I'm in the market for a high-pressure washer… Has anyone got a K3 model? Not sure if this is going to enough power.
Would love some feedback from the OB Community.

    • yeah thinking the same

    • Heard they are not that good and break easily… Bosch one are better built

      • Interesting. I actually thought Karcher were the market leaders in this space. But they have multiple models and I wanted to make sure I don't buy one that doesn't cut it.
I'll look into the price on an equivalent Bosch for reference.

        • broken tube at the bottom of mine, leaks water but still works otherwise its been good after 5 years.

        • I was looking at Bosch High Pressure Washer UniversalAquatak 125 instead of Karcher

Limited life of the pump and fittings. Made of plastic.Fixed leaking pump 2 times over 3 year period.
Support is great tho. Seems they know there are problems so they just ready the parts.

Next washer will be either a Bosch or Gerni

        • Also read the same. The lower end Karchers have plastic pumps so are prone to failure. I bought mine 3.5 years ago and haven't had any problems. Don't use it heavily though. Biggest workout was a couple months ago pressure washing my deck, otherwise I use it to wash the car occasionally (too lazy to take it out every wash).

        • The Gerni Classic 125.5 Titan I bought from Bunnings broke down in less than 6 months. More importantly I only used it 3 times for washing the car. Wasn't impressed at all.

Bought it because it supposedly has pump made out of metal, not plastic.

I was in the same boat like many others. Bought the karcher as it was cheap for a good brand. I bought the k2 from SCA 3 years ago. Saved all the receipts etc as many people said it’s not that great. However now the warranty is over but it’s still going strong.

    • Same here, I've probably had mine for almost 5 years, same model. However, the hose for the trigger gun vibrates a lot when in use. Didn't use to happen before and I've tried re-fitting it etc. but didn't change the vibrations. It still works otherwise and I've been using it despite the vibrations. Also, the vario wand also stopped working properly and I bought a cheap eBay one to replace it.

So replacing the whole unit soon is on my mind.

  • Should I get this or the Bosch Universal Aquatak 130 at Supercheap Auto? Seem pretty similar specs, can't decide. Reviews seem better than the K3.

    • Bosch every day of the week… Bosch has all metal pump as opposed to Karcher plastic pump. Karcher has a good reputation but that's really only earned in their commercial models. The domestic stuff has a shorter "expiry date" compared to it's competitors.

This one chews through electricity like crazy! Used for about 12Hrs over a few days and bill was the highest I've ever had

    • even if the unit consumed 4KW, (which is like 16AMP - any higher and it would have been tripping circuits) and your rate was 25c per kwh, it would have cost you 1 dollar per hour.

Most it would have cost you is 12 dollars, very doubtful it was this. (even if your electricity was more, its still wouldn't have been more than 15 bux or so - were talking absolute maximum here - as its extremely doubtful it would use 4KW - would probably be lucky to use a quarter of that.)
