  • nice, scored one.

    • I think ebay has then these torches for $1.19

    • most of the time they don't ship to Australia…

      • My bad guys, IT dudes banned ebay at work so I cant access it ATM

  • Works out at AUD 97 cents after Paypal conversion. How can these guys make any money by including free delivery? Oh well, all good.

    • I guess it's a cheap way to get you to join their mailing list.

    • Yep - cheap marketing. You are PAYING THEM for their advertising… it doesn't get much better than that (for both parties)

    • In marketing the term is called a "Loss Leader":
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loss_leader

The basic principle is selling an item at a loss in order to get customers to come in and purchase other products.

For example, McDonalds recently had a 30c Big Mac promotion. The don't make money on the individual Big Mac (and probably lose money on it), but the normal customer might get a drink, fries etc. with their burger and this is where they make their money back and then some.

  • Traditionally I buy my stock from Focalprice and BuyInCoins, after researching on DealExtreme.

All these coupon promos is sucking me in, and I'm finding Meritline pretty good. Deliveries are prompt, better than DealExtreme.

Main problem is that the ratings and reviews on the Meritline site are absolute crap. Is there any site other than DX that has decent, honest reviews?
