Orbitkey Key Organiser $44.90 (Save $5) or Monogramed $49.90 (Expired) + Free Express Shipping @ Orbitkey

630
OKFAMILY

For those looking for a nice Father's Day gift idea. Try an Orbitkey organiser.

Get free 3 letter embossed monogram - discount applied automatically at checkout (save $14.90). This offer stacks with the Orbitkey Rewards Referrals (link below the deal) which takes the price from $49.90 down again to $44.91 (total savings $19.89). Expired

Monogram deal ends 11.59pm 30/9/2020.

Or use code OKFAMILY for $5 off, which takes price to $44.90 (thanks @4iedemon). This code does not stack with referrals or free monogram.

Free express shipping on orders $40 and over.

Designed in Aus by young Melbournian's and made in China like everything else.

I like the Crazy horse range. I have the Qantas 100 edition.

Be aware it's for the minimal user. I hate keys, so only have a letterbox key, house key, and a key fob off the ring. Consider the 32GB USB, multitool, and Chipola as accessories. Use the tool and USB all the time, and the Chipola is great if you lose your keys or phone. I have the extender pin as well because my house key is bulky.
There is also a cheaper sports range which isn't leather, but not as premium feel IMO. Other options at Rushfaster & Benny's Boards.

They also have a handy small bottle of hand sanitiser on a return zip cord. Very handy to clip on belt when you go out.

Note no exchange if you make a mistake on the letters for the monogramming. Straight to Gumtree or FBM if you do that.

There is a 10% discount if you subscribe. Weigh up at checkout if that works better than the Father's day special. Codes don't stack.

This is part of Father's Day deals for 2020.

  • Why is black always out of stock !!!

    • Do you really want all black. There are ones with contrasting red highlight stitching. Or the Quantas one with the red internal lining. You hardly see the red till you flick the keys. Makes it easier to find if not all black.

    • Look in the Collab section. Solid blacks there.

  • "Monogrammed orders will ship from AU, please expect significant delays. Visit our blog for more info."

    • I don't think there would be an issue for delivery as there is still time before Father's Day. Hey blame it on the post if it doesn't arrive in time. Not many good deals on these except maybe black Friday sales if your after one yourself.

Surely you can buy this for about $10 from Aliexpress? How can they charge $50 for it?

    • +11

      More like $6 lol

      AU $6.35 |
      https://a.aliexpress.com/_dSZ1TL2

      • -6

Suppose you can get that for your dad and something else with the change. The Aliexpress one's are obviously the copies of Orbitkey. Each to their own.

        • +8

I tend to spend a hell of alot more lol and no these key things have been around for a long time. Orbitkey is the copy with there spin on it

      • +7

It’s fake leather and the mechanism is flimsy. Is the orbitkey pricey? Perhaps, but it has lasted me 4+ years and the leather still going strong. Doubt the AliExpress one will last that long.

      • +2

Yeah I bought one of these from aliexpress because I'm a tightarse, but ended up going to an orbitkey. It's definitely worth the extra coin if you're going to use it every day as I do.

    • +9

I tried the ali express one. its not the same. the orbitkey has a locking system to stop the screw from unscrewing. However, the aliexpress one would slowly unscrew every time you move a key. If I forgot to tighten it on a regular basis, all my keys would clatter onto the ground.

      • +4

You get what you pay for. Everyone has their price point and Orbitkey market to a buyer and price it accordingly.

        • Dang!

If my wife hadn't already thrown it out, this would be truly revolutionary!

    • its gonna take like 4 weeks to receive your order dude

Or KeySmart for $15 which holds a bunch more keys..

    https://www.amazon.com.au/KeySmart-Compact-Holder-Keychain-O…

    • -7

If you want a compact key system the Orbitkey is a good option. Great in your pocket as very compact. My partner has every key from like 10 years ago. No way any key system other than just a ring will work for her. They sell the rings as well.

      • +11

Are you associated with the company or just a poor communicator?

        • -3

No. I just have one and keep getting their emails.

          • +2

@Melb69: Some people just don’t like your comments. I bought the Qantas one, it looks really good. Just one tips that’s may work for 10% off if you add It to the cart and leave, they will send you a 10% discount code ( not working with monogram code)

            • @wangsk: It is the way on this site. Hence why I am hesitant to post or comment sometimes, and the first timer's always put down please be kind. Ppl are passionate and like to call out non discounts. Which is fair enough as we are on a bargain site. You have to give as much as you take. As for this deal or the product itself or for any product you buy. Do your own research. These post's can spark further options or as you have noted, other discount options. I just wish the Orbitkey products could be cheaper all the time. Apple user's probably wish that as well. Enjoy your Quantas one. It does look good as you say and really nice to hold in the hand with that crazy horse leather.

        • Tl;dr = poor communicator

          • @D3m3ntia: IKR. Just constant rambling posts that are nothing to do with what they're replying to

    • IMO that's ugly. The Orbitkey is not. YMMV.

    • Painful:

Do you ever get poked by your keys when you sit down? Getting poked not only hurts but can damage your pants or your bag.

      • Not sure if great lowbrow humour or worried about designer bags

    • Not very good reviews on Amazon. Only seems to hold 4 keys, not the advertised 8.

      • Depends on the keys. I've got 4 standard on one side but only 2 on the other as one of them is a fat padlock key.

        • So that's 6. Still not 8 haha

          • @khrome: To be fair it's 'up to 8'. An average car can fit up to 5 people but if 3 are morbidly obese, you can realistically only fit those 3.

            • @captaincabinets: Yes point taken. It's a bit like saying win up to $1million in this lottery.

  • Free monogram and the coupon doesn’t seem to stack. Anyone else having this issue?

    • You can only use 1 promo at a time - although still a decent deal for the free monogramming which seems over priced at $15 normally

    • I have tried it up to the pay point. Which one were you ordering?

      • Standard leather

      • Looks like it was a one time use coupon.

        • Unfortunately. Still free Monogram and express postage. Or try going up to point of hitting payment and don't place order. You might get a discount email code tomorrow.

  • Thanks OP! Bought one as a gift for kris kringle last xmas on the black friday sale and they loved it.

Going to jump on this one with the monogramming included. It's a shame the multi-tool is out of stock.

    • +2

Yep. Multi tool is the one to get as it also has the bottle opener.

  • I wish that they can make a shorter version - not all keys are that long.

    • I already thought it was short. Compact for me. Suppose they have to make it to fit most keys. That keysmart is way too long, but it does hold more keys.

  • How does this work with car keys and garage remotes

    • You have to use the D ring. Which is fine as it all clumps into one mass. I have a massive flat key fob on mine.

  • I was actually looking to buy something similar on aliexpress

AU $6.35 | Car Key Pouch Bag Case Wallet Holder Chain Key Wallet Ring Collector Housekeeper EDC Pocket Key Organizer Smart Leather Keychain
    https://a.aliexpress.com/_dUmTHGM

    • Bought it a year ago. It's OK.
But I'm always scared that it'd come apart and lose my keys because it keeps unscrewing.

      • +1

I have the same ones. I chucked in a metal washer and tightened it up and it no longer unscrews. Though I have about seven keys on mine, maybe the extra thickness helps.

  • +5

Having used one daily for about a year and a half, you're paying for the quality.
Decent investment if it solves problems for your specific use case.

No regrets on my purchase, showing no signs of falling apart anytime soon.

  • +3

I have one of these and I love it! And the designers are great people. When it's the only one I'll ever need to buy for myself, I'm happy to spend a bit extra (as opposed to AE).

    • +1

Agree, product and team are great - I've had my Orbitkey for the last 2 years and it's perfect for 2x house keys + bottle opener.

  • +1

I too bought a cheaper one off eBay, and as mentioned already by someone in the comments I too had to tighten it everyday. When it finally broke a year later I thought stuff it I'll get the orbitkey. No regrets. Self locking means I don't have to have it super tight to keep the keys in place. Really nice products despite the price. 10/10 would buy again.

  • +2

Thanks OP, bought for BIL for Christmas and one for myself.

  • +1

I have one for more than a year now. Would recommend it.

  • +5

There is an OKFAMILY family code for a $5 off courtesy of Honey but this one doesn't stack with the free monogram coupon of FATHERSDAYAU20

  • +2

Bought the originals. Have the Kickstarter edition plus a canvas and rubber. Canvas doesn't hold up as well as the others. None of them can cope with Post Office keys or really any more than 3-4 total. They start becoming unwieldy which is a pain for one handed use.
Not not recommending them, just don't assume they'll solve every problem.

    • Agree. It isn't perfect for everyone. They do have the standard ring, but doesn't avoid the clangy keys in pockets. Why doesn't the PO box work. Is it because the key is too long for the loop. Belroy have like a sleeve organiser that might be better for those keys. My mail box one had a large plastic head to it. Filed down the edges, and thinned it down to get it to nicely fit in mine.

      • We find the PO box keys fit, just, but with length and thickness they add a level of wear and tear on a holder. They certainly make it more difficult to manage in terms of turning etc.
Thanks for the Belroy suggestion, will def look.

  • +1

Just got the Qantas Edition with free Monogramming and free bottle opener from rewards. Thanks OP

  • I have quite a few of these. $49 is the normal price.
The v2.0 leather tends to peel badly, it doesnt get smoother the more you use it. Wasnt sure if this was a defect, but their customer service is pretty good and they sent me another band.
I now use the ballistics nylon weave one. All black, the nylon wont have the same issues

  • +2

There's also a prompt to sign up to their newsletter for 10% off first order (possibly from their home page), if the "add to cart and wait" doesn't work.
I don't think the codes stack so pick whatever ends up better.

    • +2

Completely agree. I bought 2 for 2 sets of keys over 3 years ago and theyre still going strong. Well worth paying for the original and to support local business

  • +2

Bought a leather one back in 2014 which is still holding up perfectly. The leather is showing it's age but nothing unexpected.
Holds 4 house keys + the bottle opener while remaining compact and comfortable in the pocket. Was easily worth the money for me and does what it was designed to do well.
    Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

  • +2

There is also a rewards program, get points for spending money, liking their socials or referring people.

I couldn't see them on the referral page on OzB, but I have an account and a referral link (you get 10% off, I get 1000 rewards points).

It's not much but it's not well known so thought I would let you know. If anyone wants the code, let me know. Would help both of us out :)

    • +1

Orbitkey referrals updated, put your code in :)

  • Damn it, just bought one a week ago.

  • I have 3 of these, 1st from when I backed them like Willowtea.
Liked it enough that I upgraded to V2, if I recall also was on KS, got the Kickstarter edition rubber as bonus, haven't used it yet.
So still using 2nd/v2, I should get around to selling my 1st & KS version someday.

If you don't like your father (or partners father) buy the sub $10 lol, or get one of these, or keysmart are good too.
No offense intended, but I do rate/recommend these.

  • Also if you guys buy the Chipolo accessory, you may like to consider the Chipolo bundle deal that's on now - see my post here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/560380

    • Saw your post. The Orbitkey Chipolo fits perfectly within the organiser. It however is alot more.

  • And thx OP, I also just bought the Qantas one with Chipolo accessory. Cheers :)

  • +3

Might be designed in Melbourne but they sure as hell didn't invent anything lmao I've seen these for years personally at this price its way too over priced, i'd expect such a product to be made in Australia for this price.

  • I have one of these, a little pricey but i like it seeing as i use it everyday essentially. A nice product just make sure you have like 3-4 keys you can fit on there and it works well. I got my initials engraved to on the black leather looks pretty sleek.

  • Have had one of these for years and they have lasted, good as a gift too.

  • Anyone know how long it takes for the referral points to kick in? A friend that I referred bought a key organiser and I'd love to put the bottle opener in my order, but the points haven't come through - it's been a few hours.

  • free monograming expired?

    • As per OP - Monogram deal ends 11.59pm 30/9/2020. So you should be okay still.

  • +1

eatelphy10 code for 10% off if anyone interested. Passed on from Orbitkey.

  • Code BOTTLEOPENER2020 for free bottle opener. However multi tool better value as has the bottle opener function. Code does not stack.
