[PC] Steam - The Deus Ex Collection (5 games + 1DLC) - $14.79 (was $125.70) - Steam

750

This is a pretty good deal, especially if you somehow have managed not to own any Deus Ex game yet.

This is also a "Complete Your Collection" offer which means that the price will be reduced if you own any of the items on Steam already.

Enjoy!

This is an extremely good price sadly only the first one is any good. Lol the rest are crap besides Human revolution. It's quite sad how bad the other games are. The first is a bloody masterpiece however. For this price there still worth playing though if you haven't owned them somehow already.

Loved the original back in 2001, loved human revolution a few years back, and have had mankind divided in the library for many years waiting for my GPU to catch up

      • Nice mate. The game of the year is an absolute steal even for such an old game. It still holds up incredibly well to this day. The story voice acting action and atmosphere is one of my favourite gaming experiences I have ever had. What gpu are you using now?

        • Don't have one, just whatever was native in the motherboard.

Don't get any time to play computer games, so punted buying a GPU until I needed it when I got the desktop.

Find them confusing to assess what I need. Will get one eventually but in no rush.

What happened to mankind divided BTW? I heard people trashing it, but was it really that bad?

Like human revolution was rushed at the end but otherwise I felt it had an amazing atmosphere and good enough gameplay

I think ramming micro transactions pissed off alot of gamers. Alot of resources went to running on console and a poor overall experience on pc from memory. Tbf I don't really remember much of the game.

The story was pretty bad and multiplayer was tacked on. It could have been very special but in the end it was not. Plus sales dropped big time and pretty much ruined de us ex franchise. I would have to play it again to get an understanding of what went wrong with the game.

Apart from the Microtransactions and the very short story, it was amazing. Best gameplay and graphics of the series.

        • +3

Yep gameplay was lit and the Czech setting / level design was amazeballs. The slum level was blade runner level immersive.

Shitty ending and dragged into microtransaction controversy was a total shame.

Just the initial pre-laucnh DLC-tier options thing soured the game straight off the bat. On top of that people were expecting MD to go way heavier on the cyberpunk aesthetic, which it does it some places but pulls back in a lot of others. A lot us were spoiled with upper and lower Hengsha from the first game though, place was unreal…super hard to top Asian-cyber punk/bladerunner style when it's done just right though

Mankind Divided is a great game, it's a bit more lore heavy and 'investigative' but it fits with the theme. You get a ton of options of how to approach problems, quite a few varied environments and HEAPS of augmentations to play around with. It's also got two major branching story lines, and you can only do one or the other per play through, which gives it good replay value.

I'm a huge Deus-Ex fan and found Mankind Divided to be really fun, with a richer storyline than Human Revolution. Great conflicted characters too, nothings black and white with any of them…which I loved.

The DLC 'A Criminal Past' is the best DLC in the franchise, and probably better than the base game (which is still great fun).

You'd be mad not to go for it if you like HR and were still on the fence about MD, the gunplay and stealth are way tighter and the gfx are still excellent and the story in my opinion is deeper and a bit more 'emotional'. HR is still a better game imo, but MD is absolutely not rubbish. Just went off in a slightly different aesthetic direction imo (sleek, clean cyberpunk vs a grungier, industrial cyberpunk…I hope that makes sense)

So I should just buy the original for $1.39 I guess?

      • +3

Tbh the human revolution was pretty good. I would at least get first game and human revolution. The first game I have played many times and really enjoy it immensely.

      • +1

If you're the least bit interested and $15 isn't a big deal for you, you may as well just buy the whole package and experience the games for yourself. They all have their pros as well as cons and are all worth trying IMO.

      • for the original make sure to google the mods they make it a much nicer experience

    • Deus Ex and Human Revolution are good

Invisible Wars is okay, but when compared to the first is tiny and didn't age as well.
Deus Ex The Fall is a mobile game.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided had it's ending cut out and just sort of ends.

      • Same, for an generic action game i thought invisible wars is actually decent.

I actually preordered Mankind divided but it had major issues on launch (my game crashed consistently at the train station explosion part) and it was 3-4 weeks before they fixed it. Game was a bit boring since you were mainly stuck in the same city and I never ended up finishing it.

Never tried the season pass but, apparently that's awful

People are just bitching about the single-use consummable items in the season pass, not the quality of the DLCs themselves. This is why you can't trust Steam reviews.

The DLCs themselves are fine. Nothing exceptional but if you liked the base game and wanted more, it's worthwhile for $4.48.

      • +1

True. System Rift 60% positive, Criminal Past 90% positive. Thanks for the tip.

If you buy via this link and already have DE:MD it's only $3.67 for the season pass

Lol id put more stock in well written informative critical thought out reviews on steam than the garbage mostly fake reviews on metacritic, each to there own I guess

Alor of steam reviews are unfair or baseless but more so on metacritic.

It failed from a plot conclusion and rushed story.

        • +1

I couldn't care less about user reviews at all, regardless of which website they're on. People are dumb and I prefer to make up my own mind.

      • Completely agree.

The DLC's are mostly good but 'Criminal Past' is absolutely elite, i'd recommend that everyday of the week

  • +4

IMO I enjoyed Mankind Divided the most out of the series, it is tightly packed and don't mind the consumables so much, they are meant to be used as it is anyways.

    • +3

I'm playing Mankind Divided right now and find it quite enjoyable too, still at early stage though.
I played all other parts as well and if anything this one might be actually my fav so far.

  • +1

Mankind Divided has some of the best side quest out of any game ever and should be the benchmark on how to do them properly. You can end a multiple mission side quest just from making the 'wrong' decision. It's awesome.

  • Love Deus Ex series. Shame there is no new one coming :(

  • The first Deus Ex is a must play. Amazing game through and through.

For anyone having issues with the graphics, such as the lag during the tutorial mission (the water bit), watch a video, or google "kentie launcher" and run it. It should make the graphics a little better and smooth out any lags.

    Enjoy :)

Also a quick tip for the first Deus Ex.
When you first meet the Men In Black, shoot them in head with a tranq dart. They won't explode, and you get the shotgun really early on.

  • Deus Ex 1 is my favourite game of all time, but I would never suggest giving Squeenix money any money. They have ruined the deus ex franchise, and have done so much nonsense last 5 odd years that I'll never buy one of their games again

  • Imma wait for the inevitable remaster of the first one. Whether it's 5 years, 20 years, 30 years, I'll wait. Who knows maybe by then the world will look like the first game. First game was set 32 years from now.

  • +1

Human Revolution and Mankind Divided are some of my most enjoyed games in memory. Immersive and engaging Sci Fi setting with really cool tech power ups that you can mess around with. Stories have plenty of awesome set pieces, puzzles and mysteries to discover, highly recommend them.
