Mars Caramel Mudcake Bar 48g $0.10 @ Reject Shop

530

Title says it all. Going to assume it's nationwide, straight off the website.

Not sure if they're short dated, but for 10c, I'm willing to take the risk……..well I was, but I can't get a to a Reject Shop that's within 5km (VIC).

@Dex38313: I'm surprised they advised you that but I hope you recorded that conversation because VicPol would almost certainly dish out a fine. If you didn't, I would call up again tomorrow and record it. That way, it'll be a lot easier if you need to appeal.

@Dex38313: of course you believe in the sovcit bullshit

            • @ascorbic: One thing he said is true. Dandrews said when he announced stage 4 lockdowns you're allowed to travel to your closest store in country Victoria to get essentials, however far that is.
Whether the 'ring of steel' is still up around Melb. metro I'm not sure though.

        • Well I traveled 1 hour from country vic to melbourne to shop as I’m allowed and I was surprised to c all the mars stock looks like to many people are afraid to go out side

are these the ones made in china?

    • +3

Good question. After the hepatitis berries fiasco I swore never to eat anything made in China again.

Also the dog food scandal, where they put carcinogenic fillers like various 'safe' plastics in dry dog food, which was sold around the world including Walmart.

      • funny enough the Snickers bars are now made in China and I am pretty sure owned by Mars corporation

They taste like shit. I read (maybe here) that it was a temporary change while they did some work at the Australian factory but I guess it's permanent.

No, Mars bars are made here, it's the Snickers that are made in China. I bought a different variety of Mars mudcake bar (think it was some sort of chocolate mudcake) from them not long ago and it was Australian.

    Heh essential items

    • Must be if I’m traveling 40 min to get these as I’m not restricted

I tried them a while ago FWIW and they taste just stunningly bad. I think the only chocolate thing I've ever tasted that was worse than this was the Vegemite chocolate they released last year.

    • Didn't even know Vegemite chocolate was a thing. I would have tried it haha. I tried lamington chips and they were bad.

  • I had one of these and they don't taste very good. Tasted very minty like toothpaste from memory (if I'm thinking of the right mars bar). Anyway, it didn't suit a mars bar in the slightest.

    3/10 wouldn't reccomend.

  • Is this Australia wide?

    • none in my local, top ryde Sydney
