  • Yeah nice, not bad. I would've picked up this but ended up ordering the Corsair RM650x a few days ago for $179 delivered.

    lot of blown psus?

maybe 110v vs 240v… hopefully 240v is more relaible

Line voltage wouldn't matter, its a transformer/ rectifier anyways, either bad QC, or bad components

    my RM550x arrived yesterday.

    amazon $144

3rd RMx here, cant fault them + 10 years warranty

I'm not too sure but based on the top comment in this youtube video (https://youtu.be/PJy7QCYEDoQ), there's a good chance that this PSU is the unrevised version so please be wary of that. In short, the unrevised version comes with a 4+4 cpu cable while the revised ones come with a 8+4+4. According to the commenter, the unrevised version has a 75% chance of failing within 6-9 months. I bought one and it's already on it's way so I'm gonna use it and get it replaced when it fails with hopefully a revised one.

how is a 75% chance of failure even possible
here i am still using my 10 year old $50 coolermaster psu+case combo ;)

      • Honestly I have no idea, apparently its a fault that's only with the MWE line but here's to hoping ay

  • FYI: I have had one of these for 5 months and have had to send it back under warranty due to a random shutdown issue. It has been fine otherwise.

  • I picked up this model for $132 on Amazon from Harris Technology the other day (Free shipping with Prime)

The image is of another model, but the description and SKU code is as above: MPY-6501-AFAAG-AU

There are some concerns around the unrevised model as mentioned by panda120.

    • Was looking at this model as well yesterday and noticed there are 2 version. So is the one you mentioned having issues or the other one (ACAAG-AU)

I was assuming that the second letter mince revision number so F would be a later version then the C?

      • Hey mate, I believe they are different products. I recall the ACAAG being semi modular, and the AFAAG is fully modular.

        • You are right they are different models. I just checked again the AC is the non-modular version.

I was misled by an Amazon page, which says ACAGG in the title and has the picture of the full module one.

  • apparently ampere 3090 might require 850w psu, what on earth..

    • What about the 3070?

      • No idea. All rumours at this time.

  • Ampere GPU's use a new connector (mini 12 pin). If you're doing a build with a 30XX card in mind it might be worth waiting for those PSU's to come out (or for clarification on which cards will use the new connector), otherwise you'll be stuck with an adaptor.

    • +1

That may only be for the founders edition. There is still a chance other cards will come out with 8+8

    • likely only on the reference cards. all rumours suggest other cards will use 2x 8 pin or even 3x 8 pin.

and if not there's an adaptor from 2x8pin to 1x 12pin which was released already.

    • Founder's Edition only. Multiple sources confirmed. And the adapter cable will be supplied with the new card who installed that connector like 3090 so that you can still use your old 8+8. Besides only the flagship model which consumes so much power needs this 12 pin. Other models will stick to the existing ones.
