    That light design/shell is identical to one of these I got from Aldi for a lot less than this. Overpriced, even at $35.

      Overpriced, even at …

      Kathmandu's business strategy in a nutshell.

        Along with most other large speciality retailers in Australia.

        But people are dumb enough to handover their money for overpriced goods, so they'll continue to do it.

        This is why I don't feel guilty about buying from Amazon and other overseas stores. I'll support a fairly priced local store, but the big players who price gouge like crazy aren't getting my cash (particularly those who got their current market position by putting small speciality retailers out of business by undercutting them, and then jack their prices up once they have market dominance).

    Honestly, I don't think it will be much better (if at all). The Sofirn SP40 is way better (and cheaper too).

  • registered back in July but never received the 20dollar credit.

    • I was the same & didnt even realise i had a voucher untill i saw it on the bottom of an email i recieved today advertising their sale

    Kathmandu is so outrageously priced, even when they send you a $20 voucher, and you only buy a $20 item, you still feel screwed.

  • What a joke.

    I bought an energizer one from wws at $15 and felt shocked to find bunnings has one tagged $5, unbranded of course. I don't think mine will last 3 times longer than it tho.

    What a rip off you can find brighter units at Bunnings for the same price or less

  • I still remember when my daughter needed a head-torch for Camp and I placed an order from the below deal;
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/459836 (EverBrite 5-Pack 150 Lumens Adjustable Headlamp)

    Turned out the deal was for 5 x Head Torches (including AAA batteries) for $19 delivered. They are also regularly on-sale on ebay.
    These are super bright (various levels), no way 1 head-torch for $35 is a deal when it isn't even as bright.
