    I’ll try spinning, that’s a good trick.

It was quite a fresh game in 1999.

    • They literally haven't changed anything in the modern re-release for PC/consoles. Same graphics, same gameplay and rather lacklustre controls (tried a million different configs for a gamepad on my PC version, and I couldn't find any combination of settings that made the game work as smoothly as I remember it did on the N64).

This game was a beast on the N64 and really tailored for that controller.

      • I only just played through this on Steam on PC using the keyboard. Would it be any more enjoyable playing on PS4 using the dual shock controller?

        • I only just played through this on Steam on PC using the keyboard.

Well that must have been an exercise in frustration.

The controls are janky as all hell with a KB/mouse on PC.

I don't know how well this game translates to the DualShock controller specifically but I couldn't get it to work well with a Logitech F710 and that's basically just a clone of the DualShock. Though maybe that's more do with Logitech driver issues and Windows, so perhaps you'll have better luck on the PS4.

      • Did you ever play it in arcade? Wasn’t it each hand controlled an engine, so you turned by releasing the gas on one side?
