      Hi there,

Yes, we had a misunderstanding with our original post as we were using this website for the first time. We have discussed it with the moderators and have thankfully cleared it up and they have allowed us to re-post our promotion in good faith. I hope you and anyone else who uses this website can understand that the original issue was an honest mistake and wasn't an attempt to misconstrue or mislead anyone.

Thanks for taking the time to look at our promotion.

  • Solar company producing the surgical masks themselves?

  • May I know which company manufactured these masks?

    • Hi there,

As mentioned by the poster above the manufacturer is a Hong Kong based company called Sunlight Eco-Tech. If you require more technical information on the product including the testing that has been done on them you can contact us via the website and we are happy to supply that information to you directly.

      Thanks for your question.

  • ARTG registration means nothing. It just means someone has taken the time to fill in a form. It doesn't mean that it has been tested, or that the TGA approves of the results. It doesn't mean that it's quality is any good or that the TGA approves of it's quality.

I don't know why people even bother saying they have ARTG registration, except for marketing.

And registration is not equal to approval.

      Hi there,

While you are correct that TGA registration doesn't necessarily mean that they have vetted the product themselves, it is however a necessary step to sell the product as a medical device. It is also done so that we are compliant with Australian law when it comes to selling our device as it is advertised and means that the TGA can, at any point, request independent testing of the device.

As I stated in the post we take the quality of the product we sell seriously and have made sure that the product had been independently tested prior to agreeing to sell the product in Australia. We are more than happy to share the relevant testing results with any perspective customer if it is so requested.

If you wish to see the results of the testing that has been carried out on our product or if you have any other questions in relation to the face masks then you are more than welcome to contact us via our Contact page on our website.

Thanks again for taking the time to look at our product, have a great evening.

      • Thanks for editing your OP to reflect that it is TGA registered, not approved.

        • +1

No problem - you made a valid point and we believe accuracy is important in advertising. Have a good evening!

      • If test and certification data exists, I don't understand why you wouldn't simply link/display it on your website. Any reason for not doing so?

        • just visit the damn thing! Its actually quicker visiting the site than writing up this comment.. oh so they have to supply the data. ok

          • @id: Your apology is accepted

        • Hi there,

We completely understand that people are wary about the validity of certain claims about medical devices on the market, so thank you for the question.

The manufacturer in this case had the product independently tested by a company called Intertek (this was required to gain the ASTM Level II certification) and supplied these results to us prior to us introducing this product to the Australian market, these results were also given to the TGA during our registration process.

We have given the details of these reports on our website without posting up the physical reports as we felt that the TGA certificate would be sufficient however, if you are interested in purchasing our product and wish to see the full reports before purchasing, then please feel free to contact us directly via our website and we will be happy to accommodate such a request.

Thanks again for viewing our product and I hope our answer is to your satisfaction.

          • @msm1003: Hi there msm1003

Feel free to post the info here.

Call me a skeptic - I am in regard to many mask claims - but your reticence to post the info on your own website via a link is baffling.

            • +1

              @[Deactivated]: Hi again Possumbly,

We felt that our offer to supply these test results to anyone who directly asks for them would be sufficient but apparently this wasn't the case.

We at the Friendly Mask Company want to ensure that you or anyone else who may be interested in our product has all the information available so we have now made the test results available on our website under our certifications page.

              https://thefriendlymaskcompany.com.au/certifications

I hope this puts your mind at rest as to the standard of our product. If you are interested in purchasing our product please get in touch and we would be more than happy to help.

Thanks again and have a great afternoon.

              • @msm1003: Excellent, thanks msm1003. That puts you way ahead of most of the previous mask sellers on this website.

  • OK I'll give them a go.

    • Hi Intel. I am thinking about buying from this company. How were the masks in the end?

    • Nevermind, I bought some to tryout myself

  • +5

In all honesty, it sounds like this company has gone further than many other companies have and these seem better than some shit mask off Amazon being sold for $20 a box.. might be worth paying the $15 extra especially when restrictions ease in coming weeks in Victoria.

Goods manufactured in Hong Kong have always been better quality than those made in China (from my personal experience).

Also probably worth mentioning: these masks are certified ASTM level 2, which means they are proper surgical masks suitable for procedures where low to moderate amounts of fluid, spray and/or aerosols are produced.

Goods manufactured in Hong Kong have always been better quality than those made in China (from my personal experience).

Probably due to adherence to standards, regulations and accountability to adhere to standards.

This will be way better than masks Made in China. Support Hong Kong people!

  • Finally face masks NOT made in China. Yes please!!
Hong Kong always have high standard.

    • You can buy Australian made masks for ~ the same price:

      • Here is a quote from a purchaser review on these chemistwarehouse.mask.

        Not Australian made
I bought these online as they are advertised as being Australian made, however on inspection of the packaging it states that the manufacturer is in Zhaoqing with the 'sponsor" being in Victoria. This is confusing. Where are they actually made?

        • +1

I bought them and can confirm they have 'Australian made', together with the manufacturer address written on the box. Info below:

          Manufacturers
          SOFTMED MANUFACTURING PTY LTD
          131 National Boulevard
          Campbellfield, VIC, 3061
          Australia

When buying, best to lookup ARTG info:

          https://www.tga.gov.au/searching-australian-register-therape…

They also sell a similar product below (slightly cheaper 2x for $70 same brand) which isn't Australian made (made in China).

  • OP, do you have any kids size masks?

    • Hi there,

Unfortunately not at the moment. We are working with the manufacturer in regards to this and we hope to have them available in the near future.

      Thanks for the question.

  • Just FYI, I got my masks yesterday and they actually are good quality - thanks OP.
Much better than the garbage quality ones I got off Kogan recently (which also cost more).

    • Hi thumbybumbi,

We really appreciate you shopping with us and for the feedback.

      Take care and stay safe.

  • Got my 50 masks today, look good quality, packaged in lots of 10 in box. Was a bit slow for delivery, 6 days.
Would recommend if your after Hong Kong masks.

      Hi Intel1,

Thank you for purchasing with us and I'm glad to hear you are happy with the product. My apologies for the shipping time. We do endeavour to have all orders delivered no later than 5 business days from the date of purchase. We are however, like many other businesses in Victoria, unfortunately at the mercy of minor delays due to the Stage 4 lockdown.

Thank you again for your recommendation.

      Have a great day!
