  What's the best/cheapest way to convert it to arca swiss? Not sure if I'm willing to lose my L bracket just yet!

    Just replace the Manfrotto clamp on the ballhead with an Arca-Swiss compatible one. Plenty out there, just google around first to make sure you get the right screw for the head.

    I'm using the SunwayFoto dlc-60 for years, works great with manfrotto head. Even not taking into account L brackets, I prefer it much more to Manfrotto RC2 quick-release system, holds the plate much better and as easy and fast to attach as RC2 system I used before.

    you can try to return it because of the difference of price when you talk to the stuff in help centre. They might give you the gift voucher or credit for next purchase.
