Kogan Mobile Experience?

Grateful to hear from anyone with experience with Kogan prepaid mobile - including any issues with porting in and out. Considering the 365 day option with 200gb of data.

Thanks in advance.

My other half has used them for two years. Porting was as straight forward as it was with anyone else and have had no issues.

No issues porting in or out, just have to be mindful that if your port out there is a time limit before you can port back in.

No issues with their use, only downside is the coverage however will depend on your use.

No issues porting in from Catch last month. I have found the coverage is better than Catch (2km from Melb CBD).

    Kogan Mobile Experience?

If vodafone coverage works for you, then you'll be fine on Kogan.

  • Just bought my third year with them. I’ve been very happy. Porting in was the simplest and quickest I ever experienced (came from coles mobile /optus network)

The Vodafone coverage was much better for me based on where I lived/visited/worked than Optus ever was.

The expensive roaming (/limited number of countries) can be painful, but easy to deal with with an Aldi sim for bank texts etc.

I ported 18 months ago from telstra. only small glitch was I didnt see that I had to enter my telstra account# so I got an email later the day that the porting was not successful. I called back and was told i didnt provide my telstra acc#. I gave it over the phone and the porting was completed the same day.

My only problem was vodafone coverage. it could be better.

when my 12 months prepaid expired, I went with catch connect and amaysim which were better.

  • Maybe just try it out first with the 90 day 60GB plan for $14.90.
That way you haven't blown a stack of money & aren't locked in for a year.

      Good suggestion. Thanks.

No issues at all with Kogan's customer service. Easy to deal with and reasonable people. They helped me out of tight spots in the past. I have good Vodafone coverage where I live and work.

1 - Get a cheap 1 month pack ~ usually on special for $9.90 for 30 days with a SIM
2 - Use it for a month and test if the network is suitable for your area, etc
3 - If happy then port your existing number and then pre-pay for 365 days if suits.
    Cheers

Using Kogan (Voda) at the moment but was using Catch (Optus) previously.
Kogan noticeably faster in city areas but when travelling up the nsw coast it is pathetic. Overall I prefer Catch Connect.

I ported from Catch to Kogan about 2 months ago. I followed the general advice to port during business hours, and porting was easy and relatively quick. I've had no issues with Vodafone reception (I live in suburban Melbourne).

Although both are relatively simple, I prefer the Kogan Mobile login page. It's more pleasing to the eye than Catch's online login.

Been with them for about 3 years now. No issues porting over. I live in metro Sydney so no issues with reception however when I visit family up north, reception is non existent.
