The fan-made port of SM64 on the Switch looks to be better anyway, since it supports widescreen and free-camera (it was made using the reverse engineering project, not emulation).

I'm still looking forward to playing Sunshine and Galaxy again though.

    • You only get this if you're a collector as it's a limited release. But, if you wanted to play these now, there is no better way.

So either way, you should get it if you have never played these games.

  • Canceling my JB order!

    • +1

      me too xD

    • +1

      I cancelled mine too :D

    • +1

JB must be thinking 'goddam Amazon again with the pricebeat'

      • Haha

  • saw game and watch listed as preorder on ebay at 199. em…….

  • Following Sir Flabo's comment up, can purchase with $10 off code through the app, states it for numerous switch products when viewing through mobile search.
    Snagged it for $59 preorder!

  • Any Game and Watches left anywhere?

  • Bloody annoying that the digital version isnt cheaper for pre-order considering no packaging or sd card expenses.

    • +1

      Digital is always more expensive.

    • +1

      No competition either however.

  • FYI - this is also now posted by the Gamesmen on Kogan for $75

It's not the cheapest but it's good for people who have Kogan credits to burn through anyway.

  • I'm curious, are people buying these games for nostalgia or to keep packaged and re-sell at a higher price later?

    • -1

      both

    • +1

Sure there are people like me haven't play any of those games yet. My Mario experience is limited to super Mario, super Mario 3, super Mario Oddysee.

      • You’re in for a major treat.
For me, my top 3 Mario games are Mario 64, Super Mario 3, and Super Mario Galaxy (if Galaxy 2 is ever released, get it!!).

        • +1

I think so, I heard thousands of times people wants these three games port to switch. I am so exciting that I am able to have all of them in hand.

    • To play them. I like them all. Just gutted Galaxy 2 was excluded for whatever weird reason.

  • Are these remastered?

    • Not remastered, but in HD resolution.

  • is game & watch just SMB? Because that is a very expensive price if it's just one game.

    • +1

SMB, SMB2 (Japan) and a modded version of Ball (in lieu of Mr G&W).

Plus built in clock lol. But depending on the amount of storage in it you could mod it and put whatever ROM's you wanted within reason.

      • I never thought of this. But if it gets hacked I'd want to put a few famicom/nes games in there!!

    • But its Nintendo…. some people are willing to pay $800+ for an empty box if it has Nintendo on it ( https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Super-Nintendo-Donkey-Kong-5-Gam… )

  • +1

Never got to play Sunshine, so i'm happy about the collection, and basically grew up on mario 64

    • Me too. My family went from N64 to PS2 so never played Sunshine as a teen (then too busy with uni for video games when Wii came out)

      • +1

yep, i missed that gamecube era, like you between youth and having disposable income ;)

        • +1

Sunshine was great, different using the waterpack for everything but has a great summer feel.

I cant wait for mario 3d world, probably my facourite mario game. Was the reason i bought the Wii U. Never liked galaxy though.

  • -5

wait is this just a straight up port and not a remaster? AND EVERYONE was complaining about the avengers game?! LMAOOO

  • Does anyone think it'll go back to $60? Also the game and watch is sold out

    • +1

      Very low chance I think

    • lol that's 200% profit. there was only one when i checked in the morning

  • +2

Ordered from JB for a bit more (delivery) but it's fine, I have a soft spot for brick&mortar stores.

    • +1

Hopefully they pack it decently and not in a padded bag - I foresee a lot of these G&W boxes being mashed up in the mail.

  • +1

Interesting that they kept the Easter Egg in the Super Mario Galaxy title graphic.

I’ve always bought digitally for Switch and I’m starting to feel silly for that now for the minor convenience of not changing cartridge.

It seems with Nintendo you really benefit in the long term by buying physical seen as everything holds value so crazy well over a long time. Also unlike steam and even now kind of Xbox, it seems they are happy to turn the switch off (see Wii eShop for more details) and make it that I can never access my $1000+ worth of games again.

I’m in a debate whether to buy all the games physical and then continue that moving forward just to be sure I don’t lose them.

    • I buy digital only and season ticket from eshop. I feel more happier looking at my cartridges.

    • Cheaper, resellable, lendable.
I can very much see why the companies love the digital distribution model but consumers really lose a lot in exchange for the minor convenience gain imo.

      • Exactly. The downside might be lost, broken, and inconvenient.

      • Yeah I agree, long run physical is so much better, it’s hard though to change to physical as I’m knee deep (about 40 games) in digital now.

  • +3

Those who want digital to install to multiple switch consoles, you can buy Nintendo Tokens for $134 (via Nintendo online subscription) which will get you any of their brand new preorder two games including Mario 3d all stars and Mario 3d world+ bowsers fury.

You will also get 650 points on top of that making it about $64 each game.

    • +1

That's the way to go for digital. Even better with discount gift card.(normally 10%)

  • +1

The only physical thing I want to buy from Nintendo is that….. Mario Puma shoes.

    • Me too, will it heading to aus?

      • Hopefully…

        Update.. Omg sold out
        https://au.puma.com/

        • Damn, was working and didn't expect they will be available soon how much are they

        • Hope they will restock it

  • +5

    • Not the cheapest but I want one so I don't care.. not paying scalper price on ebay.

      THANKS!!!

    • Already ordered from Amazon. Up vote for he info

    • Thanks ordered. Ebay scalper prices are ridiculous.

    • +1

  • GAME & WATCH IS BACK IN STOCK!!!

    $79.95, GO, GO, GO!!!

    • Can’t see it

      • Already gone

        • Wow, you're right!! It looks like many people had Amazon to email them when it went back in stock. I ordered and commented at the same time.

  • +2

Just got an email saying it won't be delivered on release day.

    • +1

      You are not alone.

    • Would you have played this straight away though? Mine is coming Wed.

  • got mine today. Perth, WA

    • Mine just shipped, and I was among the $60 batch. Anyway, should receive on Monday.

  • Really annoyed with Amazon, pre-ordered the day it went up just after they corrected the price and they still haven't sent it yet :/ Didn't expect to receive it quickly but I at least expected them to send out on release date.
