ive bought 2 refurb headphones from sony ebay and both were brand spanking new.
To my understanding many people have had purchased from the Sony Australia eBay store and received new/perfectly packaged stock, I am not saying this is the case for all. I think it may be a way of them moving excess stock they have not just refirb. Also, coming from Sony I believe they will in perfect/as new condition.
