  • I've got one of these and it works surprisingly well. Only thing that it doesn't do that would be nice is to play whatever was playing automatically, or to have a play button. But it connects well every time, keep it simple and it will never break I guess!

got one aswells, however not good for phone calls as the mic appears to be on the actual device. My usb is located in the middle compartment, so need to keep it open……

      • Ah right, that's unlucky. Mine works OK for calls but not great, if it was in the end of the AUX cable that would be nice.

      • +1

        Same situation for me.

Really like the device in comparison to similar ones, but the microphone being in the compartment makes it unusable for calls.

        • +1

would work if we can select the phone mic as the mic for calls however android doesn't allow it :(

        • Buy a USB extension cable for a couple of bucks from eBay, then mount the 'join' with a bit of 3M?

    • Only thing that it doesn't do that would be nice is to play whatever was playing automatically

That's a config on your app; this is just a Bluetooth dongle.

So this plugs into a USB port for the power? So we need a USB port and AUX port in the car for this to work?

    • Hi Joking, this version needs a usb port and AUX port when working

Hi Joking, this version needs a usb port and AUX port when working

        I think it's a serious question.

        • +1

That's right, ask his brother Wayne.

        • Hi serious, how's jv?

      • Is it possible to connect this for music playback only (i.e. not for calls)? My car already has factory built in Bluetooth/mic for calls. Thanks rep

    • +1

      Yeah that's right.

    • This could be tricky for some people with older cars. This would turn non-Bluetooth devices into Bluetooth devices sure, but might not be suited for everyone's cars.
Something I got a long time ago, that is still going strong, is an FM-Bluetooth adapter that just plugs into your cigarette lighter. It connects to your BT device and essentially creates it's own local FM station. Given, the audio quality isn't top notch but it gets the job done.
Could be a good alternative for some, like me, who don't have a USB+AUX port in their cars.

      • Adding a lighter-plugged USB charger (or double!) to the mix would solve the problem. That's what I have in my car.

        • +1

Not completely, still requires an AUX port, which my car doesn't have. Just has the radio haha

      • The FM modulator did not work for me, a lot of noise and low level.
I have found a way to add a line in to the entertaining unit (piggyback on the roof DVD input) and with this device works like a charm.

        • Yeah right, I have only ever had substantial interference once. I'd say there was a radio station that broadcasted on that frequency or very close. But I just changed which frequency I was outputting on and it was fixed.

Most of the time it is fine though.

          • @JoKing: I have a RODMI BT2FM bridge in the other car, works fine.
Before I added the LINE IN on the first car I tried 3 different bridges, all had volume levels too low. I guess it depends on your luck :)

Will it arrive this year ?

    • +1

doubt it, made a mistake of ordering from them as i thought base on their website is they are base in NSW but apparently item are sent from China. Just a fair warning to those thinking of buying from them.

    • +1

Hi jv, sure it can arrive this year, recently it will take around 45-50 days, but some also can arrive in 30days, parcels just waste lots of time waiting at airport for freight flights before it can ship to Australia.

      • +1

it will take around 45-50 days

        Is that business days?

        • +2

and are business days calculated differently in Victoria at the moment?

          • @shmahoo: We still have a day off for the Grand final parade and the Melbourne Cup.

It's good that everyone can stay home on those days and spend quality time with the family….

          • +1

@shmahoo: We don't have any businesses in Victoria anymore.

            • @Koffee:

We don't have any businesses in Victoria anymore.

Makes them nice and cheap for Dan's mates to buy them.

          • @shmahoo: yes, VIC works from home 7 days a week, with 1hr of breathing fresh air every day..subject to change!

How many phones can this be paired with simultaneously…

    • Usually 1 android phone or 4 iPhones because iPhones have better BT handles. iPads too.

If you find that it doesn’t connect, hold the colour nipple on the side.

    • I'm pretty sure I've connected 2 to one of these before I gave it away JV but happy to stand corrected!

OP - any good clearances to match previous low for the Baseus 30W QC USB charger yet?

  • Dashboard Horizontal View+ Gravity Car Phone Holder:
If you set it up like in the image the police will object (and you will probably end up with a fine).
    But I ordered one anyway…

  • This is a pretty niche product - I would think most cars that have a 3.5mm aux input would also have BT.

    • -5

I would think most cars would also have BT.

Mine has a place to put false teeth, but not bluetooth…

      • ok

  • Any suggestions for alternatives to this that support low latency APTX?

  • Thank's i didn't know these exist. My forester's blutooh is horrible so this should do the job. Beats paying $400+ on a new headunit

  • is there one with lightning connector ?

    • This doesn't plug into your phone - both USB and AUX need to be plugged into your car. Your phone then connects to the device via bluetooth

  • I purchase one for $16 on 24th July 2020 and still haven't receive it.

  • for few more bucks you'll get "echo auto"

  • I have one of these and it works great for anyone interested.
