1180

Took a late night drive just to chill out, and heard this on the radio so thought I'd share it.

The title really does say it all, same as last weekend pretty much except now you only need to spend $30 compared to $50 before.

Only valid for shopping on the weekend! and If your a real ozbargainer then you know you'll be splitting bills over $30 to get a zillion vouchers :).

Anyway, have fun shopping!
Buy me some lollies!

Good deal, though my +1 is mainly for your "I am totally amazing :p" tag :P

    • and lollies? XD

  • I see 8c off only. >_<

    • Likewise. There is nothing to back up the radio announcement. Unless you have to spend $5 in store to get the additional 2c (or pay with Visa etc). Coles are doing 8c off up to the 25th of November… same deal but longer period.

Guys, the deal is good but, think about this…..

To make it $30, we will have to buy around 10 items. In 10 items they only need to increase 0.01 cents each to get their money back. 10 X 0.01 = 10 cents. They are laughing….

Also we drive around to find the caltex … then wait in a queue for 15 minutes for our turn. By that time we will need may be 0.50cents petrol already coz you just burned it… So who is the looser……

I'm not sure where to start with your request to "think about this…"

Firstly, I assume you meant 1c or 0.01 dollars when you say " they only need to increase 0.01 cents each"

Secondly, if they increase their prices by 1c for 10 items, yes they will recover 10c. I don't know about you, but I normally buy more than 1 litre of petrol at a time! It's 10c off per litre, not 10c total.

Thirdly, my local Woolies has a petrol station attached, so no driving around for me. Nor have I ever waited more than a minute or two. So it doesn't cost me any extra fuel to use the discount.

In conclusion, I save about $6 on a tank of fuel, just for doing my normal shop on Saturday or Sunday. So yes - it is a good deal and no, I'm not the looser (sic), nor am I the loser. I'm the winner by at least $6 (maybe $18-$24 if I bother to break the shop up into 3 or 4 lots and use 4 tanks of fuel in a month)

Now that's what I called a measured and considered response. You sir, win 1000 internets! :-)

    • I do my grocery shopping on a weekend anyways, so i'm laughing!

    • "So who is the looser……"

I'm not quite sure how someone could be looser. Loose morals? Loose bowels? You surely mean "loser".

You drive around to find a Caltex? Do you regularly change the locations you drive to or do the Caltex service stations shut and open in new locations on a regular basis? I stop at one of the many Caltexes I drive past on a daily basis. I pass more than a dozen petrol stations on my way to work so I know which one is cheapest. Anyway, I use LPG, which adds up to awesome savings when you're paying 55c/L. No waiting in a queue either. Every day is cheap fuel day with LPG.

  • What happened to the Liquourland 20c off fuel voucher a few years ago when you bought 6 bottles of wine?

  • can u buy a $30 gift card and get teh fuel discount?

    • +1

No…only when the $30 gift card is used to purchase goods above "the magic $30" figure

How do i know ?…tried in the past.
