Hope they haven't just attached elastics to used boxes.

There is probably a market for that already

I went to the Melbourne CBD a couple of years ago and that looks pretty average.

If the mask really is as exciting and revolutionary as the description says it is, the company would spend the few hundred bucks to photograph some attractive locals wearing it.

What an outrageous thing to say.

Not really. If you buy any old thing from China, from the cheapest most dangerous crap to the best quality stuff in the world, you are provided with product photos with Chinese models, or you just steal photos from other Chinese retailers selling the same product that paid for their own models. Even when you see obviously American actors and models, you wonder what cheap crap did some business import from America. But if you've got obviously average Australian looking models then the product looks more legit. Even if they are Asian Australian models, you can just tell whether the photo was taken with Chinese branding sensibilities in mind or if the photo was produced locally.

I could be wrong. I often am.

          1) Uniqlo is a Japanese company
          2) The third model isn't remotely Asian.

Reconsider your prejudice on people who don't look the same as you.

    • The model for the large size is caucasian though.

My point wasn't to start a discussion on the racial backgrounds of models. Just that these promotional photos obviously were not at all catered to Australians. The photographer probably wouldn't have guessed an Australian would ever see them.

I'd say he was mixed though.

    • average Australian

What does an average Australian look like?

OP, might want to mention in the title & description that the $19.9 is for a 3 pack. And that they are 3 layer face masks.

these are essentially a weak dust mask

"Masks do not completely prevent infections (infiltration) *Based on initial value of bacteria filtration efficiency and pollen particle filtration tests. Testing institution: Kaken Test Center"

I really don't think one should be skimping on PPE looking for bargains.

Try quality over quantity for a better quality of life when it comes to masks.

I'd love to see a face mask that offers complete viral infection protection. Not even N95 offer that.

there's so many better options than strapping these sponges to your face

    • All doing it wrong.

ZORB is the PPE you need ;) https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2020/03/26/09/26411506-8153339-…

Seriously I don't think the government strongly suggesting or mandating mask is to prevent you from getting it, but to prevent you from spread it to others (e.g. incase someone was asymptomatic).
