Looking for electronic keyboards for the missus as she wants to get back into it + let the kid play around with. After a few reviews settled on the Alesis Recital Pro as it ticked all the boxes. Happened to find this fantastic price shipped from Amazon UK. This is the PRO version with the hammer action keys vs the non Pro with the semi weighted.

The price fluctuates with the $$ (bought mine for $580ish). Cheapest I can see for au stores is $655 + Delivery from Musos corner and they are out of stock (https://www.musoscorner.com.au/alesis-recital-pro-88-key-ham…), most other stores have it around $749 - $799.

NOT a deal without Prime as shipping is pretty nuts (~$240) thus the [Prime] tag.

Enjoy!

I misread the title as "Rectal" and was really confused for a second

Got to the bottom of it now?

    • So was I, in a split second Rectinol came up my mind

    • sometimes shit jokes work

  • That's a lot of money to spend for the missus for something that might potentially be a 5 mins fad.

    • She claims to be a long term commitment. With Prime, i think at least got covered for 30 days.

Oh no if it was a fad she getting a $50 kmart special. She used to play at a pretty high level and has always wanted to practice and get back into it.

      • why did she stop playing?

        • Moved countries, we had a son and we weren't in a position to buy a piano.

  • Better than Casio ctx-3000?

    • I didn't specifically look at that comparison but it was rated quite well and for the price there was nothing better that I could find. The other one I was looking at was the Yamaha P45 around the same price locally but this being ~$160 cheaper swung it for me.

  • Not much love on this deal, have you received it yet OP? What other models were you looking at? You know the Mrs has to come out of covid being able to play now right.

  • Not much interest in Pianos I guess. As above I was tossing up between this and the Yamaha P45 but the $160 saving from UK swung it for me. Not received yet, it's floating around Amsterdam atm with a due to arrive date of 1 OCT. She was fine with the long delivery date, due to the bulk and COVID I told her it will probably take like 2-3 months. The savings was worth it in her own words.

Her requirement of 88 keys and weighted / hammer kind of ruled out any budget options. I did push some cheap $100 - $200 options to see if I could get away with it but nooope. Ah well, happy wife happy life. Alternative was like a second hand upright but those are still within the 300-500 range + tuning costs + cost of moving + space dedication.

edit: woops this was meant to be a reply to the above comment.
