[PC] Free - Death Rally Classic (was $7.50) - Steam

2070

As the title says this classic game went from paid to free to play.
The game is rated very positively. Lots of nostalgia hits for some of you! ;-)

From the website:

Prepare to be blown away, literally. Race for the finish line, leaving a trail of burnt rubber and spent brass behind you… along with the flaming wreckage of anyone reckless enough to get in your way.
Pick up more ammo and turbo from the side of the track, and floor the pedal while performing some shady deals for The Dealer. No trick is too dirty when you're preparing for The Final Confrontation. Only the hardest armor, the most powerful engine and the biggest guns will see you through the ultimate battle against The Adversary.

And when you feel you can't take it anymore, you can check out the underground market. Spiked bumpers, landmines, rocket fuel or sabotage can provide a way to create some nasty accidents for the competition.

Play alone or with friends! Death Rally supports network multiplayer for up to 4 players and serial or modem connection for two players.

Features

  • Drive Crazy: Death and diversity with 19 different race tracks and 6 different cars.
  • Equipped to Kill: Each car is equipped with different weapons.
  • Pimp Your Ride: Upgradable engines, tyres and armor.
  • Car Nut: Over 20 megs of action-packed animation.
  • Controller Support: Partial Xbox 360 Controller support.

Enjoy!

Is it free on the Aussie store? How odd, my Steam shows it as 75% off.

Yes. Just checked in the Steam client. Free for me on Aussie account.
Make sure it is Death Rally Classic!

      • Just realised I was looking at the Remake. I've become desensitised to "Play the game" as usually that's for trials or limited periods I thought. Thanks for clarifying!

100% off - went from paid to free to play

Thanks OP. I like how you spell out what free is in different ways 😜

To be fair, "free" and "free to play" can be very different things. This one actually seems to be free.

So many great memories and hours spent trying to get through this game…and then this speedrun has absolutely blown my mind on what could have been.

Have you tried to replicate it now that you are an adult and have had years of practice playing games?😉

    • I usually finish it in 9 minutes.

We are talking about the game, not your entire romantic routine. 😉😉😉😉😉

      • Whoa Tiger! No need to show off!

      • I've done it in less than twelve parsecs.

    • Omg this is a revelation! All my childhood years wasted trying to beat this game! 0_o

So many hours finding a hacked exe to let you play with greater than 32mb of RAM.

Then so many hours of playing.

    So good.

  • I remember this barely

I was like 7 or 8 years old lol

One of the best games back in the days

I'm not sure what else has this Top down racing car game these days just as good

  • Such a solid game. Best cinematics

  • Anyone have problem running this on a multiple monitor setup? It spread across 2 screens and not playable.

I cannot fix it on one of the screen unless it's in windows mode however the window cannot be resized

    • Probably need to turn off all monitors except primary display in Windows display properties or your gpu settings app.

  • Thank you OP!! I've been meaning to play this again after so many years!! Good old Win95!!

    • yeah good old Win95 Version B. and Windows 98 SE. Those were great with the games run on
