  • Yes! Finally Amazon. Thank
    You. Been waiting for ages.

    • Last time Amazon sell for this price was only near the end of August, so not that ages ago.

      • While that is true - I had forgotten that happened - I see that that time neither BrickHawk or OzBargain alerts nor CamelCamelCamel alerted me in time to get it. So I personally have been waiting for a long time for Amazon to have stock and I'm thankful to ehn for posting it and that I got the alert in time. - Sorry if I wasn't clear enough in my first comment.

        • Fair enough. No need to be sorry. Enjoy your set :)

  • 80 units sold since op posted. Thought everyone should have owned this set already.

    • where does it mentioned that?

  • Thanks op ordered one! Will be my First big Lego build since I was a kid! Got it for $289 with https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/562742

  • 152 remaining

  • Got one

330 units sold in 20+ min, scomo should see how strong our economic is at the moment.

I am holding out for it to dip lower than $299. This set is not retiring yet.

    • +1

It's the next modular set due for retirement. $299 is a good price considering buying ( at this price ) one from a brick and mortar store is next to impossible.

      • -1

As it will be my second set, I’ll wait for Black Friday or December and see. Amazon will sure restock it and sell for similar price again.

        • Two sets deep and your crystal ball is already dialled in
          /sarcasm

    • +1

Don’t know what the neg is about but it’s bound to have a better deal before its retirement. There was a guy in another deal claiming they got theirs for $199 and I got my first set at $299 a few years ago.

      • +2

it might, it might not. People willing are wait for the set to hit the biggest discount before buying.
Its pretty much a gamble you play when a set is expected for retirement. The pet shop and Parisian Restaurant stayed in the market longer than the average lifespan of the modular sets.

        • I still cannot get over why they retire the Town hall so quick. That is when I lost my gamble. Also I remember the Fire Brigade constantly went on sale for $130-$150 and I regret not getting it as I thought that set didn’t look nice.

          • @FrugalNotStingy: yeah that was strange, I couldn't buy the pet shop when it was due for retirement. So I ended up buying the town hall instead when myer still ran those buy one get one 50% off towards the end of 2014.

            • @godofpizza: This is why I start to buy new sets the first year of their release when they are about 20% off RRP. I then go wait for bargains to get my 2nd sets. I am not a scalper but I do this to offset my Lego spending.

  • Missed it by 20 seconds lol. Couldn't find my wallet for my CVV. God damn it hahaha

Rookie. Who hasn't memorised their cards by now.

      • +1

CVV changes once credit card renews. Maybe he just got a new card :)

      • +1

One click buy surely for pros?

  • +1

Thanks OP. Finally got one. You were faster than the Brickhawk algorithm. Lol

    • +1

Brickhawk is highly flawed. I hope nobody is paying for Patreon benefits.

      • +2

I think it's just slow sometimes. But at other times it helps me get a deal.

Ps. I hope it gets more Patreons so they have money to improve it. ;) I like what they are trying to achieve.

  • Just in time. Thanks OP. Been reloading kmart every day hoping they restock for the same price. No avail.

  • This is an amazing set.

the guy lifting the building; that doesn't look creepy

    • Amazon’s adaptation of Godzilla.

Fairly realistic depiction of an AFOL (Adult Fan of Lego).

  • Missed out again :(

Scalpers are gonna get burnt on this set, or be prepared to wait for 2-3 years to get a decent return. They are already dumping it for less than $350 on Gumtree.

    • <350 is >299

      • If making $50 is getting burnt then I don’t know!?!?

        • +1

People not being able to get rid of the set at $350 "negotiable" is a pretty big hint that the scalper's market is saturated. The same pretty much happened with Pet Shop.

          • @DanD: buying a retired modular set for under rrp will still be a bargain. For those new to lego trying to complete the modular line up.
The pet shop had been around for too long, and people hauled heaps of them, same with the fire Brigade. But both set are doing 50% - 200% growth since retirement.
